I think you'll find these big media websites write a load of bs in their sport articles... Just ignore them... It's the reason Khan gets so much crap.. them skewing his words for a headline.. recently most notable with them taking the things he has said about Roach out of context
Yeah, him and Ortiz are too dangerous right now. At the same time, Khan can't fight tune-ups forever.
Agreed. A fairly non-threatening but solid competitor (who's mixed it at world level) should be next. Cayo or Corley would be good choices.
:deal Just seen the full fight again since watching it live, overall it was a good performance considering Amir was coming off a brutal KO loss. Still think Khan isn't jabbing enough and also throwing too many unnecessary right hands for my liking. Saying that, we have to remember he only had 8 weeks with Virgil. The thing that impressed me is how Khan still has that level of confidence in his ability, even after such a brutal knockout loss. In April I would put Amir in with Khabib Allakhverdiev (18-0) the WBA and IBO champion, thus allowing him to hopefully collect a couple more straps before the unification rematch against Garcia in November/December
[ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9O_lo6qevGI[/ame] This was during the time Lamont won the titles off Khan in DC. The interviewer asks Andre about that fight etc. Interesting insights. Andre say's European fighters like Khan don't like body attack. He also compares Khan winning a Silver medal with his Gold and say's that he blew up in the UK whereas, he has a path to follow. This is evident now.
I came across this link... just shows Khan hasn't improved one bit. Same old. http://www.thesweetscience.com/news/articles/15845-did-khan-really-show-improvement-vs-molina
By the way the article was great. Sweet Science seems to really know their stuff. The bow-and-arrow jab habit, dropping of the hands when throwing in combination, backing out in straight lines, all key fundamental flaws they need to pick. The improvements he made seemed more tactical than technical, if you get my meaning; what I'm trying to say is the game-plan of staying focused, being patient with single jabs, circling more, maintaining range, etc. The flaws in his actual punching form and offense will probably be ironed out over time.
