joe gallagher said on ringside that carl froch is a modern great. good argument can be made that hes lost the plot
bit like Steve Foster saying Hatton would beat Mayweather because Mayweather hadn't fought any decent fighters kinda makes you wonder how much boxing these guys actually follow outside of Britain and the ATGs
To be fair In Britain at least Froch is a Modern Great, now if he would have said Amir Khan, he would be certifiable and needs locking up.
froch is our greatest fighter of the last 5 years and in the top 30 greatest brits of all time but no way is he a modern great YET. though he could very well get close to greatness
As modern greats go, Froch has to be right up there. Hardly anyone has fought and beat as many world class fighters as he has. By historical comparison, he's not a great fighter. But too many prefer to stay undefeated and just fight bus drivers more often than not.... so by default almost he's right up there.
the fact that hes lost his two biggest fights doesnt help the argument for being one of the best of the modern era though that could change. hes improving still as a fighter and has a chance to revenge on of those defeats
Arnie seems punch drunk of recent interviews and very deluded... he fought Ronnie Heffron was ready for pacquaio leading to the vassell fight. Gavin and Bellew really went backwards under him aswell. Gallagher hasn't ever been that good he had John Murray who was only undefeated for a long time because he fought scrubbers every other month. Leave Manchester because every gym is the same.... tryna make everyone into ricky hatton!!!
Arnie's a nice guy from what i read and hear and TBH i've spoken to him on here and he's a gent and that kind of humblebess will make him a better trainer because he's willing to learn and he will the more he works and the more mistakes he makes the more he learns and the more he talks to over trainers the more he will develop. People forget he's a young trainer and isn't under a old head he's out there on his own doing it for himself and his fighters. Good luck to him and his lads i'm sure he will do his upmost to get Ronnie back winning and developing.
