Ive not evaluated Wlads dominance in this thread. But nice try tough, at least you gave it a shot.

 

Likewise marciano and frazier have styles that are not really similar.

 

If there is a comparison to be made revolving Frazier its against Ali, and note how Frazier was able to get inside and defeat Ali.
Ali honestly claimed Rock was better than Frazier.

 

Ehm, Sander's condition sucked for the Rahman fight too. But, Rahman certainly came back better than Wlad.

 

He very well may have been....I have Frazier by a hair, but the difference is minute IMHO.....But Ali has zero credibility with me when making an assessment of others....Like most boxers it is many times situational and/or agenda based.

 

So, you have evaluated Wlad's effectiveness in this match up by not evaluating it.

Depends if the 5-10 version also has no courage or chin.

 

Watch his three ko losses against nobodies. He was knocked out by Ross Purity, a complete bum, for Christ sake! Looks to me that he is crying for his mama as soon as he feels the power of a solid punch.

 

Possibly. Depends where and when they fight really.

Even if he was prevented from excessive clinching I still see the size difference, coupled with the speed, power and skill differential to be too much for Rocky to overcome.

If they fight under modern rules it's a dead cert who wins. And no way would a modern ref let Rocky fight on with a split nose like he did against Charles.

 

They would fight completely styles. It's essentially asking what if two different fighters were matched up rather than these two. In a historic sense, this is the quandry with the heavies. With no cap on weight, we get matches of fighters who for all basically in different divisions.

But then there are those who puff all day long with silly arguments that followed to their logical end suggest weight divisions are a useless construct.

 

Weight divisions are there for the lower weights. A fighter like Dempsey, Louis or Marciano had the power to ko any man at any time no matter what the weight.

 

Take Wlads power? Please take a moment and watch Purity, Brewster and Sanders starch Wlad. What happens when Marciano hits him on that same fragile chin?

 

Which is why we have so many 5 foot 10, 67 inch reach, 185 pound guys fighting for the heavyweight title.

Oh, but I forget, Marciano is once in a century physical freak even among an echelon of physical freaks.

The one time I sparred with a big heavy, and not a particularly good one, I thought the ****ing ceiling had fallen on my head.
