Mayweather, Jones, and Whitaker were too dominant at their best to have rivals shoul

He just called two professional fighters scared. I can see how you could apply that title to Mayweather although Mayweather didnt fight Pac after he sucked it up against Mosley, Bradley and Marquez so it had nothing to do with waitin for him to slide nor were his comments post fight that of someone who was glad he lost.

Roy had no contemporaries and the likes of Benn, Collins, and Eubanks wanted no part of him. Hopkins priced himself out, and Darius was in Germany doing what they do.

Roy had no equals in his prime. You could place Whitaker higher because he faced a more consistent level of opposition but the higher weights have always been less competitive than the lighterweights. Cant hold that against Roy.

Agreed. Manny Pacquiao at least had the balls to fight his ultimate bad style match-up, not once, but 4 times! Floyd has always been the reluctant warrior. When he was champion at 130 lbs., he was calling out the tiny, 5'4'' 1/2 feathweight champion, Prince Naseem Hamed. If you can actually get Floyd in the ring with you, I will give credit where credit is due, the man has heart! He will fight through blood and broken hands or whatever. It hurts his legacy a bit for not fighting the best guys while they were at their best.

Can you imagine Whitaker saying **** that, let Chavez face Buddy McGirt and Felix Trinidad (maybe he's slowed down enough by then) before I give him a shot at the title?

Can you imagine Whitaker saying **** that, I'm not fighting Chavez in Texas in front of a pro-CHavez horde because I'll get robbed?

Can you imagine Whitaker claiming DLH was on the gear and refusing to face him until he underwent drug tests of his choosing?

Can you imagine Whitaker squabbling with McGirt about prize money cuts after he had already clearly beaten him once?

Floyd and Roy both became reluctant champs. Deal with it :deal

belts mean **** in the mayweather era especially the later part, thats one of the problems , anytime its time to jump a division he has 1 of 4,5,6,7 belt holders to claim. there are 3 belts just with the WBA, throw in WBC, WBO, with their interim and regular champions, the IBF, and eventually the best around dont care about belts like Sergio when he was the RING champ, he gave up his others because of corrupt sanctioning fees and BS. Mayweather is a great champion, great fighter, but hasnt fought anyone that would be considered a threat since 2002

Rj and Sweet Pea of course, but not Floyd. Floyd clearly got beat by Castillo in the first fight, Rj and Whitaker never had that problem. Actually Whitaker didn't look very dominant against Paez or McGirt to be honest. Rj has the best case of being most dominant against prime greats.

He was phenomenal in Ramirez II, Haugen, Chavez, Nelson and McGirt II (from the 3rd on) though.
