Well neautral fights aren't at home are they... a neutral country isn't home no matter how close it is, I'll hold my hands up about the Johnson / Green fight. Still what's that 1 in 8 fights were won away..... my initial point stands hometown advantage plays a part.

As much as I want Froch to win, I don't think he ever will. Ward is a class apart from all but a small handful of other boxers in the game and truely elite.

And no, I'm not hoping for a robbery in any case. If I want a guy to win, I want him to earn it and win fair and square.

Ward doesn't HAVE to do anything. He's the champ, he can fight where he pleases. I just think if he wants to garner the extra respect of fans worldwide, he can prove himself to be a rare breed of US champ that is prepared to take added risk and fight outside his comfort zone.

He's already had the first fight in the US, and he's been handed ever advantage to become a champion and since fighting out of Oakland the majority of the time, so why not?

The first fight was in Atlantic City though where Froch has boxed before and not Oakland so it doesn't necessarily have to be Nottingham. For selfish reasons I'd like it to be at the O2 so I could go. :D

I don't think most British fans would want a robbery or think that Froch would win. I think Froch would make it a little less one sided than the first time and push Ward a bit harder...but in the end Ward is too good and would win a comfortable UD again.

But just because you are the champ and the man in a division does not mean you should always do things the easy way. I think travelling out of your comfort zone and showcasing your talent to a different set of fans on their soil is something great fighters want to do.

But it's obviously his call and he has earnt the right to call the shots.

Ward dominated the early going in the fight, then in the second half Froch made adjustments and changed his game plan, the second half of the fight was very even, maybe Froch had the edge, 116-112 was the right scorecard, over 15 rounds Froch might well have gotten the stoppage or won a decision, the final bell couldn't come quick enough for Ward. If Froch can apply that gameplan from the beginning, it could be a very close fight, especially if Carl has home advantage this time, as he had to travel to Ward's home for the first fight.

Come beat Froch in Nottingham, and Ward could build a good fanbase in the UK. As said earlier though, Ward doesn't have to travel. His issue is that the biggest fights for him are Froch and Kessler rematches, who else is out there? I don't think Froch or Kessler will travel to America to rematch him

Posts like this ^^ are the reason that threads calling out specific nationalities to explain themselves are not currently allowed on the forum. Within three posts it decsends in to name calling, accusations of racism and counter-accusations of racism in turn inflaming more level headed posters.

These posts by Polish Pummler and British Bulldog as are as pathetic as usual. It's a shame because posts like the below...

...and several others in the thread are well thought out and reasonable. So it's a classic case of a couple of idiots and their sidekicks spoiling it for everyone else. I'm not going to ban anyone on this occasion, but for the people quoted in this post (not knockout artist), rest assured that if you make posts like this in the coming months and I see them you will be banned. Again. And i'm getting kinda bored of handing out week long bans to racists and children.
