Fair play to Rees for taking the fight I really hope he can pull a win out the bag here.

I would be very very suprised if Rees wins but at least he has the bollocks to try.

Meanwhile Burns fights domestic opponents to arenas of clueless Scottish fans who believe he is the 'world' champion.

That's typical of you billy! Every time someone had opinion you don't like "they know **** all" Whatever! Fact is someone doesn't fancy it! I have a lot of time for Ricky, and always go to his fights so I am entitled to an opinion wether you like it of not. I am well educated in boxing, and I may not know the ins and outs of who didn't want the fight, but someone didn't, that's a fact?

yes you're titled to an opinion
but your opinions are based on what? Hearsay ect ect! mine regarding Ricky are based on FACT!
Ricky wasn't comfortable with the timescale for such a big fight and it was his choice alone.
People jump to conclusions on here far to quickly they think they know the truth but there a mile out.so yes in this case you do know **** all!

    Broner wins

Rees is good, but he's not got th best KO record and really, that's the only way I can see him beating someone like Broner. He won't outpoint him.

That's the thing I don't get, the timescale?? His fight was cancelled so he is fit? So what is it?? I have ALWAYS supported Ricky, I said when I saw him as a youngster he would be big, and he would fight anyone to prove his point, I believe if you are fit and mentally ready you take the chance cause it might not happen again! Ricky had a massive jump up in people's opinions when he stepped in to fight Earl at very short notice, EVERYONE in the barn knew he would win, but no one gave him a chance, and he boxed the face off Earl! I hope he doesn't regret it, I really do, cause he could give Broner plenty Problems.

Rees is gonna do what Burns should have done (at least he would, but there will be a late pullout mark my words)

Aint been on for a while, just seen this, just

Great fight for Rees, dont think he gets anywhere near Broner though. To short, he'll reach Broner will teach all night until he finishes it. If Rees lives up to his nickname, he may last the distance.

One final thing, I see the same old Wicky crew are in here again?....although I haven't signed in, I have been keeping an eye on the forum, every thread about him, or one that even touches on him, they are here, without a shadow of a doubt.

And this "group" all exists "in my head" :huh

Get the f*ck outta here, there is a handful of people on here who only come on here to talk about one fighter in the whole of boxing.

And they are getting let down, the support is admirable, although it can be blind, but I said time ago, your boy is stagnating and his promotion and fans are becoming some what of a laughing stock.

....and Gavin Rees gets the fight, just :rofl

Its getting worse and worse for you lot and there aint a damn thing you can do about it.

    I politely disagree.

However as you are part of Ricky's inner circle, Perhaps you can explain why Burns is not fighting Broner next?

@ Billy Nelson: As people have already eluded to earlier, life is all about taking your chances. And none more so than in sport.

Look at Jossito Lopez. He took his chance against Ortiz, & then had a nice pay day against Canelo. It doesn't matter that he got battered Alverez, he showed plenty of hearts and guts, & he'll get rewarded for that.. (Probably against Khan)

Look at Jorge Silva. I'd never heard of him before he faced Angulo, but he put up such a good fight, you know GBP will use him again.

Burns had a chance to go to America, and take on the next big thing & he blew it. I hope he gets another chance I really do, but if he doesn't? He only has himself to blame.

Broner could quite easily move up in weight after Rees, so why risk missing out? Billy has told us time and time again that Burns will beat Broner so why they've passed up in this offer staggers me.
