Ok im a huge boxing fan, have been for about 15 years,I also watch MMA,well mainly just Ufc,I wouldnt be a huge fan but I do like it.
Have been to two Ufc events, one in Dublin and one in England,I have been to numerous boxing events,Saw bernard Dunne win the World title against Cordoba,Have been over to Germany to watch Wladamir fight and have seen Ricky Hatton,Andy Lee also fight.
Boxing is miles behind UFC in terms of marketing,in the UFC they stack the card with 4 or 5 big fights, build them all up,in the arena between fights on the big screen they show interviews with fighters before each fights aswell as showing highlight of the fighters and promote up coming fights. While your waiting on a fight to start music is played through the arena so its like a big night out..
Now Contrast that to the boxing events I have been at,No music is played in the arenas, the main evenT is built up while hardly any attention is paid to the undercard which is usually very poor, after a fight ends early you could be waiting half an hour for the next fight, seems like boxing is still stuck in the dark ages, hasnt advanced,I still prefer boxing but all these so called great promoters in boxing are sadly lacking behind Dana White..

The nature of the sport dictates what kind of marketing tactics you can/ should utilize.

You cant stack boxing cards with super fights because that would cost millions. Boxing fights also last much longer than a single MMA bout. Besides, many of the things you mentioned are in fact featured in boxing shows.

UFC is one market/promotion. Wheras boxing is various different promotions, some good, some amazing, some rubbish.
So regardless of you being to a few i don't think your opinion is valid.

You dont have to stack cards but you can still put on decent fights on the undercard,Don King use to have very good under cards in the 90s and fish eyes has good cards awell..

Of course its valid,The fights I have been to have been in different countries with different promoters and they are all pretty much the same,**** undercards, nothing in between fights to entertain the people..

You are comparing two completely different sports. Think about the business side of it all, and you will understand why boxing promoters can't do what you want them to do.

I really don't feel like typing out essays to prove my point.

UFC is short attention span theater. They constantly need to keep things moving for their audience.

Considering that we are more and more of an "on demand" society, boxing should pick up some pointers. Video displays between bouts and a little more organized social interaction with fans would be nice. UFC give fighters bonuses for adding twitter and facebook followers, boxing promoters should do the same.

UFC has a pretty strict demographic that they market to, namely 18-35 yr old males. Boxing has a much broader demographic, so making the big venues seem like a seedy dance club full of guidos will turn away much of the core audience (>35 yr old males).

But yes, boxing cards could be better, and more could be done to bring in better numbers.

UFC is made for inbred trailer park trash. Boxing is a classy sport, it filters out idiotic fans rather quickly.

I think this statement is very accurate.

Might I add that MMA is guys rolling around in tight pants.
