Let's say a prime, motivated Bowe fights Vitali. Who comes out on top?

Bowe was greater, but Vitally would beat him on stylistic considerations.

    Just my take.

Vitali wins a UD. Better fighter, period.

Bowe beats the shite out of the overrated Vitali.

Bowe TKO on cuts 8. Vitali has an awkward style with some
deceptive handspeed, but not the power to keep Bowe off of him.
Bowe scores on the outside and batters Vitali on the inside. Vitalis
face is a bloody pulp in this one.

Prime, motivated Bowe has to be from the 1st Holyfield fight, & that Bowe would give any version of vitali trouble, ive watched Bowe-Holyfield countless times, & Bowe was something special in that fight, crisp, solid punching inside & outside, traded well & was fluid/picked his counterpunches to perfection, when the holyfield fight turned into a brawl he ate some quality hooks from the real deal & didnt flinch, i dont know how vitali would handle PRIME bowes infighting, itd certainly be new to him...

Bowe also had impressive balance during his short prime, enough to deal with VK's long range..

    Either way good thread OP

tough fight to pick. Bowe was pretty good in his prime. I pick Vitali but if he is a little more aggressive then he normally is . He has to be to beat Bowe.

Bowe is overrated, he was out on his feet against Hide and got his ass kicked by crazy Golota. Bowe was successful against Holyfield because they are in different weight classes. Vitaly is smarter then Bowe, has better conditioning and much better chin. I think Vitaly by late TKO or UD.

Definatley Bowe, Vitalis awkward style that looks like a picture for picture copy of Jess Willard will just get destroyed by Bowes overhand rights and jab, Bowe UD

Bowe would get down and dirty if need be and make a fight out of it, something Vitlay can not do. Vitlay will take the early lead but class soon shows and Bowe closes the show. In the post fight interview Larry Merchant asks Bowe what took him so long. "It's not who you take to the prom, it's who you bring home!"

Bowe had his hands full with Hide, Tubbs and Coetzer. His supposed prime was but a few fights. Still, this would be a very good tussle. I am picking Vitali, prime for prime.

bowe from the first holyfield fight beats vitali, as lennox could out brawl and in-fight vitali, and lennox wasnt the best at brawling and worse at in fighing, and he was cuting vitali up, and was getting the better of vitali in the last 3 rounds.

bowe can brawl and in-fight much much better that lennox and we would see the same result

Bowe does not move his feet well enough to deal with the guy. and he has to plant his feet to punch and this guy will be out of range all night. And that Bowe defense is not going to handle size and the punch output of Vitali. One guy pitches and 1 guy catches type fight.

It wasn't as if we saw a Foreman-Frazier destruction anyway in that first Holyfield fight to base things on. It was a close decision victory & hardly a spectacular result, in a competitve matchup.
