Difference between a Ufc event and a boxing event

Give an example of a boxing arena being 80% empty.

This is true even though boxing is run different there needs something to be done even mma haters have to admit this, there are too many belts, too many organizations and not enough top level fighters fighting each other

Once Arum croaks, what are the chances of GBP becoming something closer to the UFC?

There are still problems inherent to the culture of boxing. Like the fear that if a guy loses one match, it will set him back two years. However, the more guys who are under one tent, the more those things might ease and they might think a bit more about the general health of the organization, rather than short term self interest. I mean, obviously it's unlikely to go down that way, but it would be nice.

 

The MMgay ***gots need to just go and watch their **** and leave boxing to the real men. If you don't like the way it's presented or what kind of music, or pretty lights are shown in the arena, then don't go or don't watch. Simple as that. It's obvious you don't watch boxing regularly, if you ***** about the atmosphere and the marketing of the fights. This last year alone there were fights like Canelo vs Lopez, Martinez vs Chavez, Marquez vs Pacquiao IV, Mares vs Moreno, Cotto vs Mayweather, etc that had packed houses and the atmosphere was amazing. Not to mention they had bigger names and were much better fights than any of your Ultimate ***gy Championship bull****.

Another factor would be the whole culture of emphasizing a fighters weaknesses and short comings in boxing. In MMA it's mostly positive, if you lose it's not like your career is over. You can be a nobody with hardly any charisma but marketing will make you entertaining for those who don't troll on esb all day

 

It's centralized. Marketing becomes much simpler that way.

You think it's likely GBP buys them out? There are feasible step-in candidates after Arum passes, but with their limited stable, it's possible they simply get absorbed.

The UFC HW champ is the baddest man on the planet!!!! Ohh hell yeah.. Everyone knows it...

 

I'm starting to see a lot of the mma/bjj schools around here close down. A few years ago these places were booming, but it's a clear sign the fad is dying.
