All in the context, It's like using the term gutted: scenario 1) i bought the fish scaled and gutted. scenario 2) your team lost you must be gutted. Not really interchangeable and makes sense/nonsense based on what context used in. In the second scenario he isn't demanding the supporter must be slit from pectus to pelvis.

In a sense MW is right, floored does mean to stun albeit in a metaphorical way. However where the literal meaning is available, semantically all metaphorical meanings must surely be relinquished. Blah blah blah
