Dirrell needs to earn it. He can't flake out of a fight he was clearly winning (Abe) and hope to fight a top PFP fighter after 2-3 year layoff. Dirrell should get active and fight 3-4 times. If he wins then he can get Ward. Ward beats Dirrell also. The style that will trouble Ward will be similar to Froch's with slightly better boxing ability. Need a strong chin, determination, and power in both hands (like Froch has), but you also need to be able to box a little more than Froch can. Dirrell's missing the chin and determination.
Agree totally, part of the reason I'm interested in the rematch, as I personally believe that Froch is a better boxer than he showed against Ward, I also think Froch would need to be better than he has ever been but I think if anyone around 160-175 can do it he can.
You can say the same about Americans, agree that the ref stopped Hatton's inside fighting but think it's okay for Ward to do what he likes. It works both ways this.

Meh, why not. Its not like theres anyone left for Ward to beat really. Froch/Kessler 2 winner would be ideal for Ward. Maybe his imposed absense, will allow all the guys below him to fight it out to see who the ideal contender is. Like another miniature super 6 and the winner gets to fight Ward when he recovers.
Some people think Froch has improved since the Ward fight, on his victory over Bute. However I think Ward has improved since the Froch fight also.
My fondest memory of the fight is Ward bullying Froch to the ropes and Froch looking at Smoger like a child looking at his mommy to stop his daddy from whipping his ass.
