Dan Donnelly who was the first Irish Heavyweight Champion Upon Donnelly’s death his famous right hand was removed and put on display. Donnellys hand was taken to New York on tour and returned to Ireland where it now on display in the Hideout Pub, in killcullen. Co Kildare, 190 years after his death.
Henry you nailed it, Don Donnelly. His body was stolen from his grave and amputated by a surgeon Dr Hall and has been on display for over 190 years. My friend saw Donnelly's right hand in New York City about 15 or so years ago...Also his footsteps when he walked to the ring against Englishman George Cooper in 1815, has also been preserved at Donnelly's hollow outside Killcullen and can still be seen and followed TODAY.
