Calz is not elite. He never fought anyone worth a damn. He was life and death with 42 year old BHop and won a disputed decision despite throwing slaps for punches.

BHop and RJJ were elite. Had Calz fought a non 40+ year old version of BHop/RJJ, he gets stopped.

I think Froch fares okay (would lose but not stopped) with prime version of BHop and does considerably better versus prime RJJ than Calz would. Froch's granite chin :D

Froch beat Pascal. Pascal beat Hopkins and Dawson.

The only reason why Froch is not clearly number one in his division, and even higher p4p is that he is in a stacked division.

Pascal did not beat Hopkins he got a gift draw in the first fight and then lost the second.

He was also lucky the cut occurred against Dawson as he was getting battered.

So those excuses work..... but am I right in assuming that you think excuses are dumb in Vitaly vs Lewis? OR was "Lennox also lucky the cut occurred as he was getting battered"?

    e·lite
    /iˈlēt/
    Noun
A group of people considered to be the best in a particular society or category, esp. because of their power, talent, or wealth.

So who considers Froch not to be one of the best in his 'category'?

    I agree.

In tennis at least the 5 best male tennisplayers I consider elite. The 5 best female players I consider elite. The 5 best mixeddoubles I consider elite. The 5 best male doubles I consider elite. The 5 best female doubles I consider elite.

In boxing, I consider the number 1 in each division elite, as well as the remaining in top 20-25 p4p.

Depends what you call elite but if you had Froch #10 in your p4p list I wouldn't call you crazy.

Proving you have your own definition of elite for boxing that isn't shared my most. So what?

I doubt there exists a formal definition of elite in boxing. So my definition is as good as anyone else's.

No. Proboxing is a small pool so your definition is way to inclusive. When you've been beaten by two in your division then it is hard to make a case that you are elite across 17 divisions.

A regular fighter can't adapt the way Froch does.

Difference was Lewis caused the cut with a punch not a head butt.
