Also, 40 year old JMM is *slightly* slower than Mayweather. :rofl

    No need.

I already finished the thread with the first post.

Anything before or instead of Cotto, Pac was not a WW or proven WW and Floyd was in a temporary retirement.

Anything after the March 13, 2010 Clottey date just further takes them from their prime.

It doesn't translate. Floyd isn't going to go to war and torque his body leftwards while delivering an overhand right after displacing his upper body towards a low center of gravity in the pocket. It boggles my mind how people still think the same dynamic applies to Mayweather, especially given the last fight.

But to answer the TS, post-Cotto and post-Mosley would have been great.

Mayweather did that dip, duck, and right straight move on JMM over and over. He led with dipping straight rights on Ortiz all day... You imply that he wouldn't try that move on Pacquiao? I agree that he always leads then dips, and he usually dips forward not across body, but you don't think that he would have figured that move out watching film and in training? He would be far from afraid of Pac's weak jab, which is what got him KO'd.

The fight is still going to happen. Floyd was going to get blamed for fighting the smaller man anyways let alone get credit regardless but Manny will need a payday eventually. Doubt the 5th fight does better in sales than 4th fight. Other money fight but wont break a million sales in Rios. Then Bradley that no one will pay to see. He doesnt have much options left at this point.

He doesn't dip his whole upper body to his left that way. I've never seen him throw an overhand right while slipping his head to the left side; he'll lean that way a bit against orthodox fighters to pull-counter their jab, but I've never seen him react to a southpaw jab like that. Judah didn't even land his jab, but used it numerous times as a feint to set up his left as Floyd leaned back. Floyd isn't short enough to displace his upper body the way Marquez did and land such a short punch up close.

Floyd might learn the move but I'm not of the opinion Floyd can do everything there ever was to do in boxing and he doesn't seem keen on establishing lead foot positioning against southpaws. I already have a thread on this and I'd rather not clog up other ones hammering a point, but I find it hard to believe Floyd would accomplish the same things the same way given the stark stylistic differences between him and Juan. I don't see Floyd knocking Pacquiao out in 6. Given the movement Manny showed and the fact they never fought before, if he can still perform at that level, it's an intriguing fight.

2010 anytime. Floyd blew it. One thing is being scared but to not fight a fighter is not a great fighter. And I thought Floyd could beat Pacman, but Floyd will never be on the level of Manny.

I agree, Also favored Mayweather's style over Manny.
But history prob will not allow Floyd to ever be ranked above Pacquiao.
(For the retirements especially '07-08 & the Pac Match)
