Like Emmanuel Steward said the way to beat Floyd is with a good hard Jab:bbb
De la Hoya was working well with the jab vs FMM, Ortiz had some success with it against FMM, And Cotto was Tagging FMM with the Jab all night. Someone who can apply pressure like Castillo, Hatton, Pacqiuao but has to work behind a jab Pacquiao doesnt have it maybe Guerrero or Canelo can. I dont think Guerreo has it Canelo may weather the storm.

Doesn't work like that. This is Mayweather he would be boxing not pacquiao. Floyd doesn't need Marquez like manny does.

pacquiao has the wrong kind of pressure. Compare how he fights to Castillo. It's nothing alike.

What you're asking for is a swarmer with a great jab. There's barely any swarmers around today let alone a swarmer with a great jab. Even then the best swarmers of all time weren't known for their jabs. Canelo is neither a swarmer or jabber.

there really isn't anything Marquez can do to beat Mayweather. Floyd would never be hit with that right hand Manny was.

It wasn't a bad fight, and it was competitive in form, at least.

What has to be understood though, is that while Marquez beat Pacquiao at the higher weight, he is NOT a 140-147 fighter. The dude is HIGHEST 135 (where he's looked the best, IMO).

Mayweather was the bigger guy, equally as good a boxer, and faster at that weight. He deserves credit for the win, but it shouldn't be a knock for Marquez...it was a big risk.

A big reason Marquez has Pac's number is because he is inherently a lower weight class guy...he is used to fighting guys around Pac's speed. Most of these higher weight guys are not, and basically don't know what to do with Pac once he's in motion.

JMM's stock is still up and i would be assuming Floyd would be looking for the fight not the other way around.
JMM asking for it id still assume he gets paid more than the first time but not by much, if Floyd wants it though i would think its a big payday.

No point even contemplating it though if its not a career high payday.
JMM needs to either retire or cash in huge.
Makeup for all the millions he should have been making if it wasn't for some blind judges.

Why exactly do you think people cut weight in the final weeks, so they can rehydrate 10-15lbs heavier?

Maybe because perhaps it gives them an advantage?

Lots of people on here constantly complain about Chavez beacuse he comes into the ring at `180+.

I think people should just accept the fight result. Leave weights out of it.

    Floyd destroyed Marquez..period.

If you're going to start bringing up the size difference, then you have to bring up the size difference in all the other fights where Floyd was the smaller man.

If people are going to give Mayweather **** for being 4 lbs heavier than Marquez when they got in the ring, then they should give Mayweather credit for fighting guys 10-15 lbs heavier than him in the ring.

Marquez landed 12% of his total punches in the fight. His extra power won't do anything

It will help those few shots he landed count for more and affect Floyd's behavior, but power alone isn't going to win him the fight. Speed of hand and foot and flexibility of the waist are priorities. I need to see him against Bradley or someone young and agile to see if he can compete at this age with that kind of athleticism. Otherwise it won't be any more interesting a second time around.

Dude is self admitted Mayweather hater, and his opinions are obviously those of a spastic. While I respectfully disagree with you, I understand your point.

If the rematch ever happens, Floyd will make JMM come up to Super Welterweight to make JMM slow and bloated again like he did back in 2009 from lightweight to welterweight.

4 lbs? so a guy who fought at 126 pounds for his entire career puts on weight where he has love handles and never having fought at 147 nor 140 EVER? thats alot more than a 4 lb weight advantage, he is a minimum 2 weight classes bigger :patsch

What makes you come to this assumption?:huh Marquez was the one who suffered a boxing clinic, and Floyd is the ppv star here.

Agree in a way. But there were instances in the bout were Marquez made Mayweather misjudge the distance, Mayweather at this point was upright, whereas Marquez was low, but unable to land anything significant because his timing wasn't quite right. Not saying he could land that type of shot on Mayweather, or that he could hurt Mayweather. But like I said, intriguing.

The fact Marquez would be favourite against any 140lber, never mind competing at 147lbs, well, just shows how good the guy is.

I don't pay attention to compubox stats, they are irrelevant...they are subject to human error, just like judging.

:good Aye, his points didn't make sense anyway.

Well for 1 i just don't think this fight will happen for obvious reasons.
But i doubt JMM will go looking for Mayweather, i could see Floyd wanting to give Marquez a rematch though because he did what Mayweather was supposed to do.

Makes absolutely no sense for JMM to persue a rematch for chump change when his stock just went through the roof.

    I want Marquez to retire.

He has nothing left to prove, and reached his career pinnacle at 39. Go out on top Juan, please.
