People are mistaking Froch's finishing ability which is one of the best in the game to how the dude actually fights

I said before the Dirrell fight that Froch looks pretty bad coming forward, JCC hes not. He prefers to counter punch where he can lure the fighter into exchanges where his superior power an chin will win the day. Its what happened with Bute, Bute overcommitted an because of Froch's awkward style and his length and fighters get caught reaching and thats when Froch throws that sledge hammer hook from his hip that although looks of bad technique fighters dont see. Bute didnt see it and he was never able to recover.

Against fighters who are composed and box behind a jab where they can use their superior speed to jab at Froch's body at a distance will have success. He gets frustrated and starts getting out of position and thats when he gets caught with punches.

Froch is not a monster because he beat Bute lol. Dawson is the type of measured dont cares if the fights boring im not coming off my gameplan fighter Froch hates. To beat Dawson Froch will have to come out of his first gameplan and go to his second which is frankly where he starts to lose.

    He's what? 28?

This is his prime. Take the risks now whilst he has everything, mind and body.

Sports nutrition and Conte power pellets i think fighters are gonna be fighting well into their 30's. Froch is about old as Mayweather takes care of his body still at near his peak

I couldn't agree more. And 'risk' is the operative word. There are a lot of things he has no obligation to do but if he does them then, wow!, we're looking at an ATG here.

Froch is on most credible P4P top 10's, certainly no lower than 12th. If he beats Kessler then he's a shoe in for top 10, possibly as high as #6.

Dawson and dirrell lack heart when the going gets tough or things don't go there way.

Froch is generally ranked no lower than 15.

I agree that times have changed.

Ward's prime will continue for a long time, but his peak is a different matter. He may well be at his peak now, and should take advantage of that. He's special, so fight the biggest fights, take the biggest risks and dominate them.

Dawson was knocked down by a future heavyweight and didnt crumble. Fought in a daze against Glen Johnson who was a lot better than the one Froch fought and didnt crumble. Came back and had Pascal hurt before the fight was stopped. Against Ward he was a zombie and was against a the best in the world.

And I remember Dirrell having Froch wobbled and won the last 3 rounds boxing Froch's ears of infront of the same Nottingham crowd Bute folde in front of.

    Hmm seems youre wrong

    Adamek  overhyped untalented bum
Sadly in Dawson and dirrells case might be skilled but you can't train for heart and bottle. They ought to match Daw and Dirrell see who bottles and quits first:yep

I have to agree tha Adamek is wildly overrated.

He came from a weak LHW, and went to an even weaker CW (the weakest outside of the smallest divisions), and now he supposedly is campaigning at HW. Reality is that he is protected in a VERY VERY weak HW division too. The Klits and Haye.. are the only high level fighters. But Price and Fury would also spank Adamek.

He went life and death with this Australian guy we never heard more about before or since... Adamek is the level of .. a mix between Miranda and Froch. A bit better than Miranda, and not quite as good as Froch... but his move up to much weaker divisions has paid off.

One issue Dawson will face is Froch's youth, at 36 Froch is still younger and fresher than the guys Dawson made his name off

Dawson has faced two top guys in their prime, and he came undone both times against Pascal and Ward

Froch has beaten two top southpaws in Bute and Dirrell. Dawson will get hurt in this fight, and he doesn't have the heart or craft to weather the storm when Froch goes for the stoppage. Froch would bludgeon Dawson into submission like he did Bute at any weight

You're correct, Dawson lacks subtlty, the craft needed.

I was surprised at how easily Pascal was able to tag him

Do you think Froch would beat Pascal again at 175?

    Yeah he beat Dirrell.:rofl:patsch

    Pascal is also orthodox

Bute and Dawson are completely different fighters. Dawson uses his jab which is really his power hand because hes a converted southpaw. He liked to duck down in order to avoid shots, then grabs or circles away out of the danger zone, Bute pulls straight back in order to set up uppercut or left hook.

Bute also has T. rex arms whereas Dawson is 6-2 with a very long reach.

Completely different styles and IMO caliber of fighters at their best weight.
