Yep. Late Dec to early Jan. is rough for boxing. At least we got FNF back next week and Japan/Russian cards today/tomorrow.
Yeah, I am not necessarily opposed to these guys fighting, but they should fight each other instead of serving as cannon fodder for up and comers.
For IB or anyone else who is Training Maskaev these days? I assume he isn't with Victor Valle Jr anymore. And Maskaev will be ranked by the WBC he had a 'Meeting' with Suliaman right before he announced this fight. We all know what that means :roflatsch
Looked like Rahman had already reached that point when he faced Povetkin, struggling to climb down the ****ing steps before making his entrance towards the ring.
As vbookie, and having a bit of experience, couldnt you post your own odds. Just saying. Not that this thread warranted an event thread, but....... Maskaev... 1/6 Beck....... 11/2 Draw........40/1 Under 7.5...2/7 Over 7.5.....3/1 Those would be fair enough odds meethinks.:think
Can't see Maskaev getting to Arreola unless he goes through a certain other Beck conqueror who also happens to be of mexican descent. Sad to say, but it's a very plausible that Maskaev will meet his boxing maker early next yr as David Rodriguez looks to return to action in late Feb early Mar.:-(
Anybody care to offer up a guess as to where boxrec ranks Maskaev after this win. Beck isnt exactly a trophy scalp, and no one can accurately guage where he's at since he hasnt fought anyone on or below his level in nearly 3 yrs with the exception of a debuting prospect who also holds wins over both Dimitrenko and Wach in the ams. Kindof hard to tell where this win pits Maskaev in the world rankings, but as we can all guess, Suleiman will fast track him into the top 20 of the WBC.:-( My guess.....somewhere around 65.:think
