I read a lot of posts referring to fighters as cherry pickers and I have a hard time agreeing with that because the so-called cherry has so often proved that statement to be wrong. Here's three so-called cherry picks that went wrong or should I say the cherry went wild. Ali vs Spinks #1 Tyson vs Buster Douglas ahd last but not least Cotto vs Trout. There are plenty of others, help me out gents.

Dont get your hopes up Guerrero is not going to beat Mayweather it will not be a case of Cherry picking going wrong.

    However

I can't see how Trout was a cherry pick. He's a tall, rangy southpaw, with good skills who is undefeated. I was very surprised Cotto even took that fight.

Yeah, but thats not the foundation of my argument. I'm saying that a cherry is not a cherry untill the decision is rendered. Simply calling a man a cherry does not make him one.:bbb

    This.

Hopkins had lost like 3 of the last 4 fights if I recall correctly. They figured Pavlik's high workrate, youth, and power would overwhelm Hopkins.

    How wrong they were.

Yeah, I hear you but the statement that he was hand picked was made on sho-time all access.

Every opponent is hand picked technically unless its a mando. Cherry picking only occurs when you take hand pick a fighter who doesn't have the skills to trouble you. Cotto hand picked a tough opponent and lost. He should be commended.
