I can't believe that no one of you guys mentioned the bigger hypejob of all times...Saul Canelo Alvarez..he is ranked ring # 2 and espn pound for pound top ten and he have yet to fight someone from his own division...he is never fought a top 10 JMW or a top 500 p4p...
Bute fans were making it out like he was head and shoulders above every other fighter at 168 :roflatsch
Are you ****ing serious? He was picked to knock Froch out and finish the mans career. He was also joint favourite at the start of the tournament with Kessler, and many picked him to knock out everyone in the division. Some of us saw he was a slow, plodding chap with zero work-rate and many of us picked both Dirrell and Froch to school his ass. He was massively overhyped.
Kelly Pavlik. He was regarded as the great white hope and got his ass handed to him by a black and a latino, both were supposed to be easy fights for him.
Wouldn't have anything to do with the fact that he has sparked every Yank he's fought, would it?
Name some noteworthy US fighters Haye has fought? Haye is hype plain as day. Proof: betting odds against Wlad contrasted with his laughable performance.
To be fair, although Canelo is hyped up to the max, he hasn't lost and hasn't proven that he's a hypejob. Most of the names being dropped here are actually good fighters but just not elite. Here's my list: Berto Lemieux Seth Mitchell
BINGO! You hit the jackpot. Canelo is the man. Mr Mega Hype. Now there are some other hype jobs out there but Canelo is the biggest since Jerry Cooney.
Chad Dawson, gotta remember the hype before he got exposed by Pascal. Dawson has been carefully managed and made his name off beating old men, has been exposed the two times he fought top guys in their prime
