That's too harsh. He beat Adamek fair and square and had some interesting and close fights with Tarver and Johnson (dodgy decision, yes). When fighters step up they lose now and then, no big deal. Pascal is really good and Ward is just phenomenal, no shame in losing at all.
Was about to type the exact same thing. Kelly Pavlik, Tarver and Jermaine Taylor are also massive hype jobs, distinctly average fighters who gained massive exposure on the domestic scene. Its debatable whether Glen Johnson falls into this category as well such is the huge exageration of his talents on here, the man has lost nearly 20 fights for ****s sake, Groves absolutely butchered him last time out.
Adamek was a top CW, not a top LHW. Tarver and Johnson were in their 40's! Dawson could have stayed in the tough 168 division and took part in the super 6, instead he made a name going life and death with 40 year old men. Pascal is good, but remember he clearly lost to Carl Froch and 46 year old Hopkins Add Andre Dirrell to that. Though I like Glen, he's fought everyone and gone everywhere, never hid from a challenge and always came to fight
Amir Khan by far for me. He was so hype that he can still make **** load of cash even if hes completly made of glass. Tuff road ahead of him. Hes too popular for his own good.
Why is Pavlik a hypejob, because he lost to two elite level fighters? Does that make Froch a hypejob too, since he lost to one elite level and another no so elite level fighter?
Adrien Broner is another big hypejob..the guy loss to ponce de leon...fight nobodies and is ranked p4p # 6 by ring magazine.. crazy
