As with the other thread [found here: http://www.eastsideboxing.com/forum/showthread.php?t=451530 ], there are several options listed who in all good sense and reality don't have a case for this prestigious title. They're included only as a gauge for the forum. Been a lot of related threads on this topic since KO6, but none with a definitive poll that I can recall.

    I'm still going for Chavez.

The names on his resume and the manner he tore through most of them is what sets him apart.

The half-mexican has to sit this one out, unfortunately.

He's now gotten his mandatory mention. And that goes for any topic or thread.

Taking in mind that I know little about the likes of Rodolfo Casanova and Kid Azteca, my top 10 list would be about like this:

    1. Chavez
    2. Saldivar
    3. Olivares
    4. Marquez
    5. Sanchez
    6. Canto
    7. Barrera
    8. Morales
    9. Zarate
    10. Lopez

We are very fortunate to have three all-time great Mexicans in roughly the same time are we? :rasta

And they banged each other up with just one exception.

Ricardo Lopez is technically the best. Chavez is the epitome of the prototypical Mexican fighter, Zarate was a terror who could knock you out!

Buddy, I have a controversial suggestion to add to the list.

    Kid Azteca.

I don't think it's controversial, although he's yet to have anybody put his career in accurate and definitive perspective. Not even posters far more knowledgable than I.
(Can only include ten poll options)

Its unfortunate a fighter like the great Humberto "Chiquita" Gonzalez is always left off said lists or is hardly ever mentioned for that matter.
(I'll be the guy to mention him here)

IMO, he would have beat Ricardo Lopez H2H.
    (Just me tho I guess)

They counted Duran out even if he's half Mexican.

I'm not so sure about Napoles being considered as well, he's Cuban.

My vote goes to Julio César Chávez González
(Even if the half MEX was in this discussion)

I like Marquez, but man, is he getting too much love here these days.

Chavez is the only real answer.
