    That's part of the problem.

    His greatness is really based on a myth.

    There was a story of him defending the Mexican welterweight title 70 times over a period.

    If that's true... :yikes

    Love "Lil' Hands of stone" but I was defo against him in that fight.

    Im picking Marquez cause im biased, even though Sanchez and Chavez should go ahead of him, he deserves some love right now!

    Yeah man, Mike is cool as ****. Ran his gym with no air conditioning (purposely) and it stays 110-115 here in summer. His brother royally ****ed him out of his finances and properties. I think he's still having pending court cases with the county to get his facility back.

    Not even the slightest resistance? Gomez, Nelson, Lopez (x2), Castanon, Cowdell, Ford and commons Castillo, Laporte is a damn good record.

    My favourite is Morales but the answer is Chavez... seems like some people can`t separate personal favouritism from reality though looking at the votes.

    They were looking for the next Chavez, and it seems like we got great candidates but none made the cut. :D

    As good a boxer as floyd is, no way Sanchez would have lost 12-0 to him, that was Marquez best opponent & he was badly outclassed, that must be held against him in a greatness discussion. I love Marquez, he is a brilliant fighter & a credit to the sport, but Sanchez was a level above him IMO, being better must be taken on board when comparing greatness... & its not like Sanchez doesn`t have the names on his list list either, he has beat some great fighters.

    Yep.

    JC Superstar is just one of the greatest fighters I've ever seen, Mexican or not.

    Lopez has the perfect technique but his defense wasn't as good as Chavez's nor his inside game. And as others have already said his resume (while being ok) isn't as good as it could have been.

    JMM is my boy though.

    Sorry but we have to take styles into account, Floyd is the perfect foil for JMM.
    Add to that he jumped 2 weightclasses and was fat and slow.

    Im fairly sure it would not be 12-0 now (although he would probably still lose clearly)

    sanchez is would have could have, brilliant skills and did alot in such little time which is why I rank him so high but still JMM trumps him, accomplishment wise not close considering longevity which is not sanchez fault, but its his detriment unfortunately, and skillwise is very close.
