Kessler had a close victory over Froch and is willing to prove it was no accident by COMING to England to rematch Froch. Do you respect Kessler more than Ward, who is unwilling to fight outside of Oakland?

Froch close to agreeing Kessler rematch

Carl Froch looks set to agree a super-middleweight unification showdown with Mikkel Kessler, with the fighters' camps poised to agree terms inside the next week.

IBF champion Froch watched from the television studio as Kessler defeated Northern Irishman Brian Magee earlier this month, and was confident a fight would happen in 2013.

Now Froch's promoter Eddie Hearn has revealed negotiations are well advanced for Froch to attempt to avenge his defeat to the Dane back in April 2010, when he suffered a narrow points victory to lose his unbeaten record.

Froch has made no secret of his desperation to rematch Kessler, and a fight could be agreed by next week. Kessler has agreed to fight Froch on British soil, but has refused to fight in Froch's home town of Nottingham. The clash is instead headed for either London's O2 Arena or the Manchester Arena, with the date likely to be in May or June. :deal

"The fight that is screaming to be made is Froch and Kessler," Froch said. "It's a fight the fans want and both boxers want it too."

He added: "Carl really believes that he can beat Kessler and it is one of only two blots on his record.

"Neither Carl nor Mikkel would box in the interim. Carl's trainer, Rob McCracken, likes him to have a good gap between fights and it means that Carl can go away on holiday in January and go straight into training when he comes back."

Hearn has also revealed a rematch with Lucien Bute, who Froch beat back in May, is on the backburner.

"Lucian wanted the rematch, as any fighter would who believes he can win," Hearn said. "But I have spoken to his promoters and they suggested that they might like another fight first.

"We don't believe that fight makes sense right now. Bute can have the rematch later on or, I believe, he might even end up facing Andre Ward."

Interesting read, though I doubt Ward would dare face Bute.
Froch and Kessler have no fear travelling to take on the best and are willing to give up home advantage to prove a point.
Home advantage counts for alot and fighters willing to give it up in big fights deserve credit

Ward won very one sided fights versus both Kessler and Froch. Why should he feel obliged to face either of them again? Let alone in their home territory?

He didnt win a one sided fight at all against Froch and the Kessler fight was full of head use which shouldnt have been allowed.
Why should Kessler have taken his title over to Ward, with it all to lose and nothing to gain, when he was champ, but he did.
Home advantage counts for alot and Ward has never tested himself in a big world title fight as the away fighter. Ward hasnt tested himself very much at all and in doing so, would prove much more about himself

Ward is the Number 1 there's no need for him to travel, but i've always respected Kessler regardless....he was the one that was willing to go down to Wales to finally offer Calzaghe a chance to legitimise his 168lb career.

You are right! Ward doesn't need to travel, but if he did it would be a huge event in Europe... He would earn some big bux and he would be respected by everyone. I think Ward would travel, but I'm not sure what Goosens plans are (probably playing it safe).

US fans care as much about European respect as we care about your opinion on skinny jeans and eurodance.

Name an ATG from your country and i might respect your opinion on boxing matters

Very one sided until Ward injured his hand. I have Froch 3-4 rounds. Most gave him less. The Judges were very favorable to Frochy.
The Americans were barely past prospect stage an were supposed to be easy pickings. Kessler would get an easy win over a gold medalist and get American exposure. As Froch said after his gift against Dirrell

"Its all going according to plan"

    Oops!!!

Hearn and Saurland arent stupid. They saw how easily Ward handled their fighters. I believe Ward when he says that he reached out to both camps and they didnt respond.

I bet theyre gonna milk Kessler and Froch as long as they can and have no inclination of either getting in the ring with daddy.
