Lewis beat prime Klitschko, and an Evander Holyfield who was as good or better than he ever was.

And we'll forever talk about how Lewis and Tyson did not fight in their primes, but the FACT is that neither was old by any means. Lewis even being a yr older than Tyson.:-(

Lewis not mentioned enough ..... geeez :patsch the "TKO 6" is a sticky thread at the first page!

I seriously think that rating of Holmes is just proper, he was solid ATG
but he beat nobody including 50 years old Ali on the wheelchair.
So why bother to mention him a lot after 20 years ... he brings no excitement
    to the discussion table

Lewis was underrated during his reign. Now, he is considered by many on ESB indestructible iron chinned monster.

Holmes didn't duck anybody, He took on all challengers. He was arrogant because he felt like he wasn't getting the respect he deserved and he wasn't. He was living in the shadow of Ali and that's a pretty big shadow. He beat everybody he faced in his prime and fought up to five time a year. He was an excellent champion and a HOF fighter. ATG? I don't take that as lightly as some people so I won't give him that yet.

If you just select the thoughts:
    ... didn't duck anybody
    ... took on all challengers
... He was living in the shadow of ...
... He ... fought up to five time a year
... he wasn't getting the respect

    beside that
... he was not arrogant, more humble

you end up with one name: John Ruiz :D

Lewis is grossly overrated by many boxing fans. He wasn't even the best fighter of his era - that was Holyfield.

The versions of Holyfield and Tyson he beat were shopworn. He never faced Bowe at all.

Basically, Lewis beat up on second-tier guys (and a couple of them starched him) and waited til the top guys in his division - Holyfield and Tyson - were old and ready to be taken.

Oh, and let's remember too, he had a suspect chin. He is the only top level HW blown out TWICE in the early rounds by second-tier fighters when he held the title. The only one.

It's just that Lewis beat ATGS as well as Larry Holmes and NO ONE ever talks about em.

The TKO 6 sticky thread doesn't count. It really doesn't pertain to Lewis, it pertains to the Klittards/Brittards.

No one ever talks about these guys positively.

Anyone that doesn't have both those guys in their top 10 heavyweight GOAT list should redo their list. I mean now, immediately.

Vitali certianly isn't an ATG,I'm quite certain. I like Vitali, great guy and good champ but not top 20. That's no knock on the man.Just how I see it.

Holyfield and Tyson are ATG but they were both past their prime by the time Lewis faced them.
Lewis beat Tua,Grant,Briggs. Lewis had a good career and I like the guy quite a bit but he's with Vitali in my book. Good but no great.

Lewis is the most humble hw of all time... I think that's a fact.

He's so humble to opponents and rarely talks any crap.

Holmes was underrated even in his prime. I would say he's still overlooked when fans discuss classic legends. Holmes came immediately after Ali was finished so it was understandable that fans were sad an unforgettable entertaining legend like Ali was leaving the scene. Lennox Lewis though isn't that underrated, he's still mentioned and discussed far more than Holmes at least.
