Are there any other instances where a former champ or champ commentates over a fight i quite liked it [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WXpUMV8qxsA[/ame]
That is from Marciano's show. He owuld have a guest, then watch fight, and comment. Do you know who guest was? Sometimes he would have a fighter, then show his bout, maybe it was Moore or Paterson?
It was probably Patterson he was being very complementary to his fighting, i remember a picture in the classic pictures thread of Rocky with Patterson and Chuvalo i think so maybe Patterson would go on his show a bit
I think Rocky fought one of his best, most businesslike and disciplined efforts vs Moore for that final fight of his. He was methodical, relentless and like a machine vs Moore. I don't know if he was "reading a script or not, but I'd love to know just what he thought about Patterson's performance vs Moore. I think i know...I believe he thought that he softened up Moore for Floyd. I really think Rocky put on a great show nvs Moore, as you can tell by my choice of an avatar pic. He was miles ahead of the version of himself that beat Walcott for the title, even though he landed that alltime great right hand. Vs Moore, he was a relentless fighting machine...and remember, this same Moore was nowhere through as a great fighter. witness his unbelievable showing vs Yvon Durelle a couple of years later/
Rock does commentary for Robinson -Turpin II here. He points out Eddie Canter in the crowd for any Boardwalk Empire fans. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=87gRhyhbaP0
