He's definitely up there. As filthy as he could be, he could be absolutely brilliant when working on the outside. JCC would be my pick for this topic, but I think Baby Arizmendi needs to be mentioned as a great, great Mexican fighter. Two victories over Armstrong, plus victories over some other great fighters like Miller and Wright are nothing to sneeze at.
If Napoles is considered in this poll because of his Mexican citizenship, then that changes the entire ballgame. He would be the undisputed #1.
The fact that Olivares, Saldivar, and Canto didnt get one single vote is depressing. Ruben Olivares, had he been more consistent and more disciplined, could have possibly been the greatest Latino fighter of all time...he was that damn good. He was a tremendously skilled Boxer/Puncher with frightning power in both hands, fought in a stacked Bantamweight and Featherweight era, winning titles in both divisions and defeating a number of excellent fighters....His inconsistence, and wild party lifestyle prevented him from being that much greater...He ranks at #2 in my list of Mexican ATG's. Vicente Saldivar ruled a very stacked Featherweight era with an iron fist, clearing up his division filled with excellent fighters, even defeating a great HOFer in Ismael Laguna before starting his reign! He would vacate his championship and retire only to come back a few years later to defeat the best 2 fighters in the division at the time to reclaim his title back, and he would finally end up losing legitamantly after being well past his prime. He ranks at #4, maybe even #3 in my list of Mexican ATG's. Miguel Canto was a brilliant little boxers, very great defensively, an excellelnt tactitian and very undersized even for his weight class. None the less, he would rule a very stacked Flyweight divisions, putting on boxing clinics as he defended his title 14 times, defeating a number of excellent opponents. Damn, I've never really given it much thought G. Much less comparatively. :think Grade-A post. I think people (who even bother to look) into Olivares immediately get turned off by his losses and somewhat infamous inconsitency but Rose, Herrera, Castillo, Rudkin is some pretty ****in stiff opposition, and that was at BW alone. Canto was amazing as well and could place top five, but I've always got him fairly clearly behind both Rubes and Saldivar. I wouldn't freak at seeing a Marquez (or MAB :yep ) over him.

Dude Napoles was practically adopted in Mexico. Oscar was raised like a Mexican by both Mexican parents. It's not like he's 4th or 5th generation. It's a bit unfair.
