There should be a final announcement on Bute's next opponent in the next 2 weeks.

It's a pity Hopkins seems to be heading in another direction because I'd have loved to see him keep his promise to fight in Canada again.
And despite his age it would be a good marker of where Bute's head is.

    100% agree

On another note , Stevenson is suppose to annonce his next opponents tomorrow morning , a lot of Quebecers say they have a deal with Froch

There are some rumors that the winner of the Sakio Bika vs Nikola Sjekloca might be matched with Bute for the WBC title after they'll elevate Ward to WBC's Emeritus Champion or something simply because he holds the WBA belt and that's kind of their policy.

Another bull**** matchup for Bute, he needs to start realize that he doesn't have time. Fight Pavlik in NY on a co-event or take him on in Montreal, so he can get a payday and get himself in a position to fight another Top SMW-contender, F*ck the belts, it's the name that counts!

I hope that's not true or falls through.
That would be an absolute joke for Bute at such a vital crossroads in his career.

I'm very positive that won't happen! It doesn't make sense timeline wise either.

Not rumors its from Boxrec site http://news.boxrec.com/news/2013/ex...bc-bute-swerves-froch-and-gets-line-wbc-title
We also understand that the winner of Bika-Sjekloca will be mandated to fight Canada-based Romanian Lucian Bute within 90 days.

Probably till feb.16 Bute will have set a fight. So Bute-Bika is possible only in the summer if Bute will decide to have 3 fights this year.WBC-->Ward is a good route.
Obreja(close of Bute) said Pavlik refused again.Lucian needs to decide SMW or LHW.
I would like him to fight Andre Dirrell if Pavlik is not possible risky fight but well rewarded Ward would be forced to fight him. Also Dirrell did a lot of trash talk on Bute he deserves an ass whoopin.

Fans don't think much of Andre Dirrell, who is considered a ***** and who is inactive for almost three years. Bute won't gain much if he wins.

If Bute struggled with his weight when he faced Froch, he should go to LHW. We saw with Dawson what happens when a fighter is drained. YOU COULD GET KO'D BY WARD!!! :D
