Most fans arn't happy with the main event and see it as another cherrypick. So maybe a good fight on the undercard can get some sales and this is what GBP are going for. Floyd can do good numbers regardless

ya it'd be dumb to fight Trout in May because he'd school Canelo.

J'Leon Love on "That" undercard is garbage.

Oh, it's happening brother. They will put him against a faded Mexican (Saul Roman?) and that's that. :yep

Even if Canelo wins it would be ugly and take away from the aura of invincibility they are trying to manufacture for him.

While we're on the subject, I remember a while back making a thread about Superbowl/Wrestlemania type mega-cards. I think they'd be a great way to promote the sport and it would generate a lot of money.

Imagine Pacquiao-Rios, Gamboa-Broner, Khan-Ortiz, Maidana-Matthysse all on the same card? (Maybe not those particular fights with the promotional Cold War we've had going, but you get my meaning...)

In order to do this you would have to take Mayweather and Pacquiao off the card as they would demand the bulk of the fighter revenue.

Realistically something like this could work and generate 500k buys with above average paydays for each:

    Canelo-Trout
    Broner-Burns
    Ortiz-Guerrero
    Maidana-Thurman

I think a top draw like those two could demand a great bulk of the revenue and still have the other fighters get a higher-than-average paycheck given the number of people who would buy it. I suppose I haven't worked out the numbers though.

I'd be all for it. Floyd vs Guerrero seems to be as good of time as any to stack the UC since there are many fans disappointed with it.

    this guy wants canelo bad.

    and a southpaw?

gbp has given canelo absolutely no exposure agaisnt lefties and now they are going to throw him in with a southpaw thats begging to fight him(no one in their prime begs for a fight they think that they are going to lose)? a guy that after his biggest win(cotto) took absolutely no time to cherish the moment but to belittle canelo in front of everyone?

this is the guy you want your cash cow to step up and fight after glorified "sparring" sessions his last four title defenses?

kudos to gbp if they make the fight.

They are both reacting the same way, it's hilarious.

I think Floyd was legitimately edgy/anxious for his first fight in a while against a big, strong guy while AB was just copying Floyd

Ortiz and Eloy had the opportunity to do something crazy and take the pre-fight mental edge but decided against it for some reason :verysad
