Canelo would absolutely wreck Angulo, I would be shocked if it went past 5 rounds, based on what I seen from Angulo in his last fight.

for what it's worth, just looked back at that boxrec.com post ... no Canelo-Trout to be seen. **and Broner or Love aren't listed either

    http://boxrec.com/date_search.php?yyyy=2013&mm=05&dd=04

Mayweather might sell against anyone, but his PPV with Ortiz didn't sell as well as ones vs Mosley & Cotto.

I don't find it THAT hard to believe, if you can stack a PPV with quality known names you go for it

and take into consideration that Canelo's being groomed as a future opponent for Mayweather so wouldn't it be a good idea to showcase the two on the same night? What's the point of putting Canelo-Trout on a separate date when you can stack it on a Mayweather card an bring that much more interest with it

as Canelo-Trout by itself might only bring in hardcore fans, and leave a bulk of the non HBO/casuals out of the loop

where if you put the above fight on a Mayweather PPV, now with big PPV fights at Theaters that can potentially attract a much wider fanbase to seeing Canelo in addition to Mayweather.

well Broner's already headlining an HBO card in Feb vs Gavin Rees, but I'd figure putting Broner on a Mayweather PPV serves the same purpose as doing it with Canelo does. Look at big picture

you put these young stars on the same bill as Mayweather and it gives them a ton of additional exposure that they couldn't have got elsewhere

could Canelo & Broner headline their own HBO dates? yeah as they've done before .. but doing that, limits them to hardcore fans and HBO subscribers, which doesn't help much in the long run.

Agreed. Alfredo seems to have gotten slower since his return.
(He defo needs at least 2 more fights before being considered)

Angulo is managed by Haymon, right?

Wonder how Trout would feel watching his stablemate get his fight.

Al Haymon and the Watson boyz will be busy calming down the **** storm. Trout vs a can live on HBO, April 27. Book it.

Angulo minus well fight Canelo if he can cause he won't get any better as a fighter, the layoff and that Kirkland beat down he took really has slowed him down.

I agree that Angulo looked a bit off but it's difficult to be spectacular against a young guy with no fear who wills himself through the fight like that. Silva made a name for himself with that performance...IMO.

His fights against Mosley and Jose Cotto were on ppv and I think his fights with Gomez and Baldomir were as well but I'm not positive abou the last two.

Gomez was the split site co-feature to Floyd vs Ortiz and Baldo was just regular HBO BAD, I believe.

Edit - Baldo was undercard of Mosley-Mora PPV per boxrec

I've seen Silva against Angulo and Kamegai and he seems like a tough guy, no real shame for Agnulo to have trouble with him after being inactive for a year.

I really like a possible Alvarez-Angulo fight, I think Alvarez wins but its an all action fight. Angulo would probably benefit by taking another tune-up in the next month or so but I don't know if he'd risk an Alvarez fight due to something like a cut or injury.

I just took a look at boxrec and it seems like the Gomez, Cotto, and Mosley fights were all on the undercards of Mayweather fights. His next fight would be, atleast, the fourth time for Alvarez fighting under Mayweather.

Angulo will never be the same IMO, he seems to slow sluggish... and IMO that will never come back. There are only so many tune ups he can take... he has changed a lot. Maybe his hands got heavier lol

Excuse my short response, as I'm on my phone. Basically...

    - having Floyd and Canelo perform on separate dates, equal more money for all parties involved.
    - Floyd vs Canelo at end of 2013, will sell regardless. You don't need Canelo to be put on Floyd's undercard the fight before (even to attract casuals).
    - to ensure this blockbuster Floyd vs Canelo fight goes ahead, GBP would have to be out of their minds to risk Canelo against Trout. If they are to put Canelo on Floyd's undercard, they'll pit him against someone who'll be too **** of an opponent to a) be used as someone for a headliner on a seperate date, and b) be a threat.

but when the date is May 4th .. if you can put Canelo & Floyd on the same card a promotion would be dumb not to do it. What's the alternate? Have Canelo fight a week or so later on regular HBO vs someone over matched? What's the purpose? Also it's more money out of HBO's pockets to pay for these TV dates, so why pay for Canelo to have say the May 11th date in (lets say Mexico) when he can just fight May 4th on PPV?

For the May 4th PPV: Mayweather's the headliner, but Canelo's been on his undercard for 3 straight PPV's why stop that trend now? and if in fact Canelo is going to get Mayweather in September, you want as many eyes watching him (Canelo) as possible

, you've said that before, but under what basis? GoldenBoy has put Canelo on Mayweather cards before, what stops them from doing it again? it doesn't need to be done, but they've done it with Canelo vs Mosley, Gomez and Jose Cotto on THREE consecutive Mayweather PPV's

    not going to happen.

angulos ranked 19 on boxrec and 11 on wbc. suliaman is not going to sanction this fight. noone is going to fall for this crap of another canelo title defense of an opponent coming off a ko loss and seven months of incarceration on top of it.

canelos fighting a live 154 on may 4th.

theres just too much hate going around boxing blogs and canelos making a mockery of the wbc and jose suliaman. even the biggest canelo nuthuggers are going to lose faith.
