I believe half Sardinian. Making Calzaghe 1/4 Italian. Since he repped those gloves/trunks I suspect I could be wrong and he could 1/2 Italian.

    Andre Ward is half Irish.

    Mikkel Kessler is half English.

    Felix Sturm is Croatian.

Sardinian is Italian, so is Sicilian, Europe is a melting pot and the Romans also left their mark in England for 500 years and Germany but most of these Islands are Italic, not to say that the German tribes,Normans,Vikings and bordering country's did not have some blend but that is the same with any nationality so I think Welsh/Italian would be Calzage like Marciano would be Italian/American and Quarry would be Irish/American...Loche would be Argentinian/Italian

I heard somewhere that Hayes mother was Turkish?

No, Haye's mother is white English. He merely lives in Turkey (well, Turkish Cyprus) for tax purposes.

I know Sardinia is Italian. Doesn't my first and second sentence follow that logic.

No, Calzaghe is actually ethnically Welsh too. Quarry and Marciano aren't ethnically American (Native-American). You make a good point in all this as there is no real ethnic purity, for lack of a better word.

I dont think Ward's father wasn't born in Ireland but he was of Irish heritage.

Ward is probably 1/4 Irish or something. Not sure what generation Irish his Father was.

Bonavena, Locche, Monzon, and Firpo were all Italian. Argentina has a huge Italian population.

Add Coggi to that list as well....
Miguel Angel Castellini is another one that comes to my mind...there is more. Not sure about Monzon though...
Amilcar Brusa, the greatest argentinian coach ever, was also one, at least Brusa is definitely an italian last name....
Off topic but Brazil has a bigger italian population than Argentina btw....outside Italy is the bigger concentration of descendants of Italians in the world....
