Whitaker without a doubt. we're talkin a true all time great.
i'm not trying to **** on james toney, but whitaker was truly a legend

 

Its an insult to Whitaker to even have to say the obvious.

Toney fights similar but better than McGirt.

 

Despite what people think. it's actually a very interesting style matchup.

They're not THAT similar at all. McGirt relied more on his feet, whereas Toney had awfully slow feet that were stuck to the canvas for the most part. They're both technicians, if that's what you meant, but in different ways. Toney wanted to get on the inside and was more stationary, McGirt drew your lead from range.

Anyway, Pete gave the crowd a show in the first fight, which made it closer than it should've been, and schooled Buddy in the second, in what was his last GREAT performance, so your point is moot.

Whitaker's movement and footwork would be too much for Toney. In this somewhat crazy, odd fantasy match-up.

When I read these posters:

"Whitaker would clown him" "This is an insult, Whitaker would school him". etc

Nobody does that to an in shape an prime James Toney.
They are both ATGs (by RING Magazine standards)

 

Whittaker would make Toney look even worse than sanderline williams, dav tiberi, and thadzi already did.
