    Give Morales a tighter defense & you`ll pretty much have as complete a fighter as you can get... but nobody is perfect & his iron jaw just about cancelled out that small defensive flaw regardless.

    Tito's fights against Yori Boy Campas and Oba Carr. In both fights he came back from an almost-traditional 2nd round knockdown to get the stoppage. Against Campas, Tito started landing his power-shots early and after giving him a pretty good beating in round 3, Tito got the most savage TKO I've ever seen - Campas' eyes were in the back of his head and I think the ref saved him from serious damage.

    Carr showed Trinidad when he was at his most rounded, before he fell in love with his power and became a head-hunter. Nice, patient boxing - mixing his attacks up and finishing beautifully once he smelled blood.

    I loved Morales fights against Ayala & McCullough, JMM v Peden & Medina and Rafa-Mabuza I & II.

    I think Cowdell had one of those once-in-a-lifetime nights to go the way he did with Chava.I know he fell at the elite level,but he's been a good servant to boxing,as much post-teirement as anything.
    I've also always felt that Chava-McGuigan would've been a wonderful fight.A real toe-to-toe classic.Don't think Barry was in Chava's league but I do think history has been slightly unkind to him.The Cruz fight totally derailed what looked like being a certain ATG career.
    All of Chava's big fights sadly seem so precious now though.:verysad

    Sorry Bill.Should've been clearer that I think the actual fight is underrated in the grand scheme as opposed to being less celebrated.:oops:

    That whole era for JMM ('03-'07) was the zenith. Textbook excellence.

    You now hear a lot of oft-repeated crap about how he changed to a "fan-friendlier" style after that period (or toward the end of it) - but his style was plenty friendly to me during his feather prime. :conf

    Been watching some fights that reminded me of this thread so thought I'd give it a bump with this and some more on the way;

    Kostya knowing a troublesome cut calls for some hasty action:yep

    And here you have one of my all time heroes giving a fabulous display of working behind the jab waiting for a perfect opportunity;

    Malignaggi vs. Ngoudju- don't know why... Paulie shows grit

    Louis vs. Carnera- least celebrated beat down of a former HW champion in a big fight

    Monzon vs. Benvenuti I- Griffith, Napoles, Valdez, Briscoe gets more publicity, as does the Nino rematch as it's far shorter, Monzon shows off greatness

    Mayweather vs. Ortiz- high action in 4 rounds, great drama at the end, a quick watch

    Donaire vs. Mthalane- really good 6 round fight with iffy ending (TKO6 on cuts :D), Mthalane goes on to be a great 112 titlist

    Johnson vs. Burns- iconic fight, showcases Johnson's tenacity, defense, dominance, arrogance, and style

    Funny you mention that fight of Paulie's.Those were the days were I didn't appreciate Magic,and that fight typified why I didn't like him.
    Big fan now though.
