If Floyd Mayweather Jr fought in the 80's, he'd be one of the FAB. It'd be the Fab 5

Floyd would've never fought Hagler or Hearns. He would've lost to Duran at lightweight and probably welterweight too. He would've lost to Sugar Ray Leonard at any weight. He would fall short of the Fab 4, no doubt about it.

is this some kind of a joke? Floyd is scared of Paquiao and you think he'll have balls to fight Hearns or Hagler? wtf lol, he'll just duck all these fighters and accuse them on being on steroids.

    Agree.

    Vs Leonard - points.

    Vs Hearns - KO'd.

    Vs Duran - points.

    Vs Hagler - KO'd.

The only fight I envision Floyd potentially winning would be against Duran at 154. And even then, I think the Duran that beat the crap out of Moore would beat Mayweather.

I am not sure Floyd would have fought any of these guys.. for any amount of money... He is way too concerned about not ever losing.

I think his best chances would be against Duran and Leonard.. He may even get a draw or a win in 3 fights against them, depending on which version we are talking.

But he never beats Hearns due to styles, Hearns would knock Mayweather out, that is certain to me.. Hagler would also bully him around, he simply doesn't have the size, or the punching power to hurt Hagler..

The biggest thing is, Mayweather would have never fought any of them..

If old Mosley shook Mayweather with a big right, can you imagine Hearns connecting? Who was much better as a boxer, could box with Mayweather and was bigger, and also hit much harder than Mosley. I think the only thing that kept the Hitman from being the GOAT was his chin, and I just don't think Floyd would crack it.

Hagler was also just too big, would take anything Floyd had to offer, and brutalize him against the ropes...

I think if Mayweather didn't want to deal with Pacquiao he wouldn't have wanted to be in the same country as Hearns.

    Duran murders the ****:deal

What a load of wank anyone reckening Mayweather could beat the likes of Duran at 147:lol: Just look at the way Duran dominated Palomino & truamatised SRL in Montreal:yep

Who the **** has Mayweather fought at 147? Floyd is to slow & static in comparison to any of the fab 4, he dos'nt throw enough punches, yeh he'll look good against the likes of old man Mosley, shopworn Cotto, puffed up Marquez, dribbling village idiot Ortiz:lol:

Some of you clowns on here are ****ing mental! No way in a million years could mayweather beat any of the elite's. Duran outboxed leonard, he beat him handily & some muppets here recken the likes of Mayweather will beat Duran & lose to Leonard:lol: Duran & Leonard would both beat the **** out of him.

Mayweather is tailer made for Duran, laying on the ropes or leaning back in the corner is certain death, just look at the non-stop 3 minute beating he put onto Leonard in Montreal:D

No way ever would Mayweather get passed Benitez. Duran/Leonard/Hearns/Hagler/Benitez are Elites:deal Tried tested & proven in battle.

Mayweather is a child of his times, navigate your way to the resident HBO golden goose & get yer face into that HBO $$$$ trough & make sure you stay there:yep But avoid all clear & present dangers first. Let the compitition wipe each other out.

Even into his 30's Duran employed all the ring savvy to frustrate that undisputed monster called Hagler, wipes out Moore & decks another monster in Barkley & he acheived all this due to the simple fact that he is a master craftsman who extended his career due to sheer boxing excellence when facing naturally bigger & younger men.:deal

Mayweather is that Kadasion slag of the boxing world.:yep

Technically no violations of rules. :conf

Whether his intent is trolling or not, he keeps it subtle enough that opinions expressed can't really be differentiated from any other ardent fanboy claims (of any fighter)...slippery slope to start making those judgment calls...

Now, if someone made a spate of threads entitled "Hearns was a glass jawed bum and Berto knocks him out in 4!" (+ several more with various other names of middling contemporary welters' names substituted in for Berto's) that would be clear enough trolling to warrant deletions and, as a next step, some time off.

Here, simply proposing that Mayweather could hang with the F4 - while it may not be popular - isn't that outlandish as to be treated as suspect. Even though in this particular case the author's tone and frequency of such posts does raise an eyebrow.

Why do people get so butthurt after 1 theory/proposition.

Floyd's skills definitely ranks above anyone in the FAB 4.

The only reason Hearns/Leonard/Hagler would win is because of their size, not because of their skills.

P4P in terms of skills- Floyd ranks top 5, if not top 10. Whoever denies this DKSAB.

    It's just a theory, fellas.

Still, I see Floyd rolling over Leonard @ 147 (Possibly), Duran at ANY WEIGHT, Benitez. Hearns no, Hagler no.

Stated it wrong. But in terms of skills, he's probably top 5 of all time.

I don't think this can be argued at all.

He would definitely get some wins against that crop of fighters.

He might lose 1 or 2 here and there but I think Mayweather would definitely have a winning record.
