He's got to count as a boxing great but has there ever been a more frustrating fighter than Mayweather ? The guy talks more than he fights.
This isnt hate for Floyd, i love his style, one of the best in my lifetime but he never ****in fights.
Any examples of a less active great of the ring ?

Not that I can think of off the top of my head.

He does my ****ing head in too, he's more businessman than boxer, I wish his talent was given to someone else, I wouldn't say it's wasted on him but he's certainly not using it as much as he should.

I can see his next play from a mile off, He wants to fight Guerrero because it's a easy fight but he knows people won't be THAT interested, so he pretends it's a warmup for a superfight with Canelo, then he beats Guerrero, makes $50 million or whatever, ****s off for 12-18 months or so comes back and repeats the trick.

He could of been an ATG as well, what a shame, Broner is the next him as well.

In my years of watching boxing, no, but times have changed since the likes of Hagler, Hearns etc (when I first started watching boxing at a small age). Even Pac fights more than Floyd and he's a megaster on Floyd's level (was before his last fight, and possibly the one before).

To state an obvious or two - blame inactivity on money (cash, not Floyd) and promoters, and to a certain extent TV (though this could come under the 'promoters' umbrella.

Sugar Ray Leonard? Jack Johnson was pretty inactive once he'd won the title, although I don't know how much you'd wanna consider him an ATG.

I thought of Leonard but he was fighting 5 or 6 times a year in the late 70's. I know noboday does that anymore but Mayweather is ridiculous.

Oscar De La Hoya did it. Loads of mainstream fighters do it. Especially towards the end of their careers

It was the big 'retirement' breaks that struck me with Leonard.

Id say he's in the top 5 fighters of the last 20 or so years so if he isnt he's not far off.Top 50 or so all time ?He's got ATG skills if not attitude.

He's definitely got the skills. I'm just not a fan of how he takes his foot off the pedal against clearly worn down opponents, when he has the handspeed and energy to put them away. But I guess that's part of his 'no risks' approach to the game.

Relative to the time he didnt seem to fight much but compared to Floyd he was busier than a fighting bee on crystal meth

Can you list the number of times Floyd has been out of the ring for three or more years?
