It's more complicated than that. It had more to do with King being Tito's man, and the very ugly history the Duva clan had with him, especially as it pertained to recent events at the time. There is a reason Whitaker leaves no questions regarding his legacy: He beat just about everybody and took on as many challenges as possible that you can ask of an All-Time Great in his own time.

Tito was a beast at 154lbs! Maybe Martinez speed and movement would trouble Tito. Take into account Martinez has KO power too. Thinking of it closely I find this fight intriguing but at the end I think Tito will be the one victorious. :bbb

Benny sounded like one of those posters saying Floyd was ducking Tszyu so he wanted for him to get injured. :patsch

    Yeah, Whitaker hates a challenge.

Ok, i know these two, my current fave vs past fave.

First off, Martinez starts fast and Tito is unstable for the first rounds so a kd is very likely. Although Sergio can box and move, he is a fighter and will engage sooner or later. Plus the hands down thing would not do him any favors

Remember, Tito was in beast mode at 154, and Martinez run at 154 wasn't that impressive, not as complete or dominant as he is now

@154 Tito by late tko @160 i would favor Serg

By that logic... if a shitty Mayorga can catch and hurt Tito so easily could Sergio.

    154lbs & below I'd favor Trinidad.
    160lbs & Above it's Sergio's fight.

Do people know Sergio has been put on his ass 4 times in his last 7 fights

Whoever says Martinez wins don't know **** about boxing seriously, 147, 154, 160 Tito by massacre. With Serg hands down style he wouldn't know what to do when tito cuts the ring off, and force Sergio to fight in the pocket, something he damn near runs from, he 'd get sparked early, cause Tito is gonna make you taste his power, ealy even if he has to take 2 to 3 big shots himself

If a one dimensional mauler who refused to open up, landed nearly 200 punches at a 46% connect percentage, what would Serg do to one of the most accurate boxer punchers, with once in a generation power, to shatter that shaky chin of his.............

Tito gets overrated as ****. everytime he faced a boxer he got schooled and retired. Same outcome.

Cause he lost to one of the greatest middleweights of all time in BHOP and Crispy Creme Winky, he had no business at 160 anyway:patsch

But Serg getting dropped by Journeyman, but he's Marvin Hagler here

Tito also got dropped multiple times in his career, but like Sergio he got up.

They both have shown great heart. But Martinez was only seriously hurt once when he was dropped, and it was by a guy who weighed as much as a crusierweight.

Tito is no bigger than Martinez, they are roughly the same size; however, Martinez is a better boxer and an equally hard puncher.

To be honest, I think Martinez has more explosive punching power than Tito.

Additionally, Martinez has everything you need to beat Tito. He has excellent lateral movement, a southpaw style, and pin point accuracy, especially with his left straight, which he would utilize effectively to Trinidad's open body.

Trinidad could not just march in there in seek and destroy mode because Martinez would take away his wind with his body attack early, and then knock him out late.

Tito is not good when he faces guys with a lot of movement. He had issues with Oscar, and while he was less than prime, had issues with Roy Jones.

Martinez is not a small, and shot guy, like Whitaker. He is a big middlweight puncher that moves.

Even if Tito does manage to tag Martinez and hurt him, Martinez will get up, and Tito is not a relentless punching machine.

This is a bad match up for Martinez.

It's funny that more people pick Mayweather to win when he isn't a mover at this weight, is undersized, and isn't a big puncher.

I say Tito knocks Mayweather out. You can't hide in a corner against a guy like Tito who is bigger, stronger, and taller than you. That's where he wants you, right in front of him.

    This is not Ricky Hatton.

The best way to beat Tito is with movement.

exactly and what happens when Sergio starts getting tired in the mid rounds and has his hands still by his side.
This fight is easy for me to pick
