Sure, no one is downgrading him.

But I'm just saying, vacations/retirements are part of the game. People give Floyd too much **** for "retirements" when he's really only done it once and it's because of good reason.

Anyways. Floyd came back from a 16 month break to fight the #2 p4p fighter in the world and waited for Cotto/Pacquiao. How is it his fault that Pacquiao refused blood tests?

 

And how is it his fault that Pac refused blood tests? Floyd wanted it to be a fair fight, and obviously Pac thought otherwise because of whatever reason (Not insinuating anything)

Floyds been fighting top 10 p4p guys and fighters coming off wins.

And Floyd's career isn't even done yet. He still has a chance to go after Martinez, Canelo, Pac, etc.

Ray WAITED for Hagler to deteriorate after his bout with Hearns/Mugabi (We all know this).

But it's still regarded as such a great fight because of Ray's 5 year lay off + going up to 160 to fight the middleweight king.

If Floyd beats Martinez, it will be just as ground breaking
If he beats Pac/Canelo.

It will be god damn ground shattering.

 

They are both greats.

Ray definitely ranks ahead of May but to say that he never went on vacations/retirement is a joke.

To say that he didn't wait till Hagler deteriorated is also a joke.

 

I never said that. I said that the boxers from the 1800's with 47round KO victories should not be taken that seriously. Sure their stamina "COULD" have been otherworldly, but to say that they are boxing at Ray Robinson/Greb/Langford/Floyd/SRL's level for 47 rounds is absurd and fictional.

They were simply throwing little jabs, dancing around and definitely not engaging for most of the fight.

And I don't really care whether you take me seriously or not. I speak objectively and I don't criticize the fighters. People like you simply want to disregard all the negative things about the FAB 4.

When it definitely wasn't true because after 84 (His first Knockdown), he said he didn't have the will or skill to do this anymore in an interview. But turns out that he was TRAINING for a middleweight fight all along and waiting for Hagler to deteriorate.
