Do you know why the Rocky Graziano and Jake Lamotta fight never happened?

Al Silvani said that Graziano was waiting on his doorstep one night. He ask Silvani to train him for the fight. Silvani was already with LaMotta at that time. Al Silvani seemed unclear as to why the fight didnt happen.

 

Well it didnt happen at that time because Graziano broke his hand, and why did he ask Silvani to train him in the first place?, what was up with Jakes trainer. One of the reasons this fight may have not happened sooner was because Lamotta was to busy try to conquer Robinson by fighting him 6 times in like 4 years give or take a year. But we all do wish this one would have happened Ive always been a fan of both these guys.

 

And you have to believe Robinson took alot out of Lamotta in those fights. Sugar broke his jaw a few times, broke his ribs multiple times, shattered his nose I think in all there fights, and caused a slight shoulder injury to Lamotta...But with all that said I still pick Lamotta to win late in the the fight by stoppage or by decision.

 

Broke his jaw, ribs, nose and injured his shoulder. Never heard that, where did you pick this up?

 

In an Inteview I saw with Lamotta, Patterson, and Graziano. Also found an old article on the net about a year back that had some post fight interviews where they speak about the injuries Lamotta suffered.

American boxer Rocky Graziano (1919 - 1990) at his training camp at Greenwood Lake, New York State, 13th June 1950. At the time, Graziano had a broken hand, but did not yet know it. The injury prevented him from taking part in a planned fight with Jake LaMotta.

I heard that when promoters confronted graziano about fighting lamotta he said we'd never fight eachother we're good friends and the promoter said well Lamotta said sure and wanted to know about his purse haha.

I highly doubt that Graziano didnt wanna fight!
