Froch ready to drop his belt for rematch with Kessler

Good for him, it's amazing some champions are willing to get rid of their trinkets to make the big fights happen yet others will cling to theirs and be forced to take fights with the likes of Robin Krasniqi and Mario Veit.

 

It's funny, I used to think it's very difficult to like Carl Froch, and now I think it's very difficult not to like Carl Froch.

 

Dangerous strategy.

Effectively he gives up every negotiating tool. He'd have to make a gentlemans agreement with Mikel first.

Coz if this happens, Kessler is the belt holder, Kessler is the one with the victory and Kessler is the one holding all the chips.

I'm not saying Kessler would **** him over the table, I'm just saying without the belt froch don't have a lot of negotiating power.

 

I'm not a fan of Froch per say but I thought he beat Kessler if I'm honest. He lost to Dirrell though.

 

Giving up his belt would be very hard for someone like Carl to do, and it shows just how much he wants this specific fight. He cherishes his belts a great deal and appreciates them as much as any fighter could do, but he wants the Kessler fight more than life itself!

I ****ing love Carl Froch! Absolute warrior who's willing to do anything to make the big fights happen. If more fighters had that attitude then we'd have seen even more great fights over the years.

 

You're right, but the ultimate irony is that Kessler's belt means absolutely **** all, what with Ward being the Super-duper-ultra-mega-legit-cross-my-heart-and-hope-to-die-WBA-champion-infinity+1.

 

Indeed Froch is a ****ing warrior. Mad props to him if he drops that useless strap to rematch Kessler. I hope Kessler's promoter and Kessler himself will be agree to fight in U.K !

 

I wouldn't think he'd have to in all honesty. A 'unification' fight (which this is being touted as, seeing as Kessler is technically a belt holder and all) always takes precedent over mandatories with the IBF. The whole Stevenson issue is probably coming more to the forefront with Kessler talks stalling. It should have been all wrapped up by now but it isn't. I'd still think he could hold on to his IBF strap and fight Kessler though, and then drop it after that.

 

I still find it very easy to dislike him. I think the guy's an *******.

 

Kessler will beat Froch again in the rematch.

It's a shame Nathan and Joe never had a big lucrative fight waiting for them. Neither has the need to avenge a loss either.

Froch gains substantially by dropping the belt and fighting Kessler.

 

I know, to fans the belts mean nothing but to promoters and tv they're the selling point.

i wish they'd drop the multi belts but until they do, we have to face the reality :-(
