It really hit home for me with Norris though.I was 13 or 14 when he came back for Marvin, and I just loved that I was able to enjoy him,but I always look back on the Norris fight as a sort of shock to my system where I started to understand the perils of fighting on too long.
Ray just couldn't do the HBO analysis without thinking "I'd do the lot of those ****s" and Norris gave him a horrible systematic beatdown.
I remember a wonderful piece about it,where the writer said it was like watching an old friend you'd grown up with and always loved taking a beating on the corner from a young hoodlum with everyone too scared to stop it.:-(

Hearns vs. Olajide. I thought Tommy showed a lot of his personality in the fight. It was not a great fight, but I enjoyed it for some reason.

All three of those fighters you just named are high quality fighters, and Jirov especially was a ****ing monster. How soon we forget.

It's had a mention or two.Good fight. For me,Cotto at 140 is similar to Hearns at 147 in that they were both a tad vulnerable at the weight, but fabulously entertaining and their legacies really are enhanced by the excitement their vulnerability added even though they were more rounded at the higher weights.
