I'm not a delusional Ali nuthugger but Ali has the win on his record.

    Deal with it.

And instead of criticising everyone post up your score instead, and don't just say "I scored it 10-5 Norton" or some **** say specifically which round you gave which fighter.

As I'm always saying - Although I think Muhammad was lucky in getting the verdict for this one, many of the rounds were close. And it borders on hysteria, imo,to call it a robbery.

You don't find a more respected ref than Mercante. If he says that it was the most difficult fight he was ever involved in to score that means something. Close fight. In my mind it was close because of Norton giving away several mid rounds and by lagging back in the 15th. You just don't do this as a challenger for the worlds championship. He and his corner should have known better.

Good post. Also, Norton laying back on the ropes and allowing Ali to take potshots at him lost Ken points.

    ALI: 1,3,7,9,10,11
    NORTON,2,4,5,6,8,13,14,15
    EVEN: 12

    8-6-1 Norton.

Incidently, the broadcast teams panel of experts who scored the fight - if you score EVERY round at least one of these guys gave to Ali you can make it 8-7 for him. That is, they all scored for Norton individually, but if you give every round any one of them deemed possibly Ali's, you come up with the same scorecard as the referee and judges.

I have it almost exactly the same way.

    Norton: 2, 4, 5, 6, 8, 12, 14, 15
    Ali: 1, 3, 7, 9, 10, 11, 13

    8-7 Norton

These scores are very close to mine.

A few comments. Norton might have stopped Ali in the first fight if it was 15 rounds. The second fight was very close, and you could argue a draw. The third fight was all Norton. 9-5-1 was my card, and the official result is one of the worst decisions in boxing history between two highly ranked fighters.

Oh I know. Ali would likely had 1-2 more losses, and perhaps a draw on his record with unbiased and fair judging. Sometimes in boxing the promoter's golden goose gets these type of calls.

That is utterly ludicrous, I actually cannot believe you have even said this.

    Preposterous.

****wit, it doesn't matter if you were there. The camera angles we can look at are much better than what you got.

Muhammad Ali: "Yeah, I lost that fight."

Crazed Ali nuthugger: "Close but clear win for Ali."

If Mercante says it was a close fight...it was a close fight. NOTHING beats watching any fight live and I concurred with the ref..it was a close very hard fight to score. And I did score it for Norton that night by one point and i did not give him the last round.
