Don't accredit him as being a respected and established journalist by referring to him being "in boxing".

 

He is a bit of a snake too. Used to be all over Roach's nuts when he was in that gym and then Freddie kicked him out and now he slags him off to Robert Garcia.

Also heard that when Rios hired some PR, they told him to stay off the Seckbach videos.

he gets great interviews in all the gyms, hes at all the major press conferences on his own dime, he is very much in boxing.

 

He's good for boxing. He's got a ton of content on youtube, and his stuff is much more interesting than the more "professional" type journalists. The reason why I don't like that stuff is because it's the same **** every ****in' time. "How is training camp going?", "what will be the key to beating your opponent?" blah, blah, blah. Ellie Seckbach will have the ****in' nerve to ask someone what their favourite beer is, or where they got their gold chain from, or what they think of ****** Bieber. Now the reason why this stuff is good is because you get to see the fighter's true personality. When they have a pro asking them questions, they are in "media mode". Cliche' after cliche'. When Ellie's around they swear, they joke around. Look at the behavior of Mayweather sr around Ellie. He's very entertaining. Then look at his behavior when he's in the company of a regular reporter. Ellie makes people let their guard down. ifilm London do a similar job over here in the UK, but are not as wacky as Ellie.

Having said that, I understand why folks would get totally pissed off with Ellie. He' constantly buzzing around, shoving a camera in their faces, asking stupid question after stupid question. Reminds me of a guy I used to work with. Annoying, but you can't really hate. I mean, talking about Lady Gaga and showing Goosen a pic of Bradley? atsch He's nuts, this guy. A Clown, but like I said, he brings out that crazyness in the people he interviews, and that's 100 x more interesting than hearing them say **** like "yeah you know, training camps going good, I feel good, I feel strong, I feel powerful, and uhhh, you know, I'm looking forward to the fight now and uhh can't wait to show what I can do" (said in a voice that gets increasingly higher pitched as it gets towards the end of the statement) :verysad

 

Give me an adult an in depth interview like this any day of the week.

Christ, could you imagine that stupid ****wit trying to interview Manny Steward?

 

I think he's a terrible journalist. He's disrespectful to the fighters, trainers and others associated with the sport, he is incredibly rude and ignorant at times, and to top it all off, he has very little knowledge of the sport. I'm not going to lie and say he doesn't provide a good service, because he does get some good interviews, but that the only thing he does is turn up to these places with a microphone and a camera. The rest is provided by whoever he is interviewing. He's not funny, he's not charming, he's not intelligent...he has nothing apart from enthusiasm.

Some of the stuff he comes out with is ludicrous. How many times has he said something stupid like "how do you think you'd do against elite fighters like Pacquiao, Cotto, Mayweather and Salita?". He has a weird obsession with Salita and seems to think he's an elite level fighter when he clearly isn't. He's a very ignorant person when it comes to boxing, but I bet he's ignorant in general life too. He seems to have his head in the clouds and is unaware that people are taking the **** out of him half the time.

Compare him to the guys at iFilm London. They have the same enthusiasm and laid back attitude, but they also have respect towards the guys they are interviewing. They do their research and ask appropriate questions, whilst not turning their shows into boring, repetitive nonsense. iFilm get that balance right, I think, and they produced informative and fun videos.

Every video of Seckbach's are embarrassing to watch. I know the guys he's interviewing are thinking "...is this guy serious?", but to be fair to them, at least they go along with it and make the shows watchable.

 

I dont mind him but some of the stuff he comes out with is a bit dim

I think he's kind of a schmuck but at the same time, he has the balls to go out there and put out his own videos and open himself up for criticism. Takes more balls to do what he does than to site in an ESB forum and bash the guy. Some of his videos are entertaining, especially the ones in Garcia's gym. The only thing that really annoys me about the guy is how he kisses the fighters ass
