First off I fully expect Devin Alexander to get passed Kell Brook in Feb.
(So this thread is for IF/When he beats Brook)

How would anyone see this match-up??
(Would people hate on this fight)

If a Bradley fight can't be made.
How about this fight... Why not?

I can see why Alexander is favorite. But Brook is on the ball, he will take this. I think its going to be close though.

Alexander has very respectable hand-speed and a solid right jab, but Marquez has better positioning, ring generalship, and timing. He'd be landing sharp rights from the get-go and would wear down Alexander with consistent body blows.

Agreed. Though Devon would try to spoil and make it ugly.

Have to agree with JMP. Alexander's hand and foot speed would likely carry a few early rounds, but JMM would start to time him and land hard counters.

I actually think this would be a pretty entertaining fight. Contrasting styles, good level of skill.

I'd much rather see Marquez-Bradley. I think Marquez would win, but I envision him having some difficulties with Bradley's quick energetic/youthful style (and headbutting) for the first 4 or so rounds before making the necessary adjustments to dictate the tempo and pace of the action to time Bradley more and slow him down for a decision win. Could get very interesting, though. I'm a little worried about Marquez getting old overnight despite his great training habits. I'm also a little unsure if he would get up 100% for the guys who don't have the big names like he was able to twice in the last year or so with Pacquiao.

Bradley is a good fight, I agree. Difficult fight, but not quite dangerous.

Alexander is a good style match up got Marquez. Devon would get timed coming in throwing those amateur combinations and grunting like a pig.

    Pretty much this.
Alexander has some ok natural athletic ability but his punch selection is so predicteble.... just high volume of straight shots in 1 tempo and 1 power.

I think it would take JMM about 1 round to figure it out all out and then go to work.
There is no depth whatsoever to Alexander.

Yea I see Alexander imposing his size and speed early, getting overconfident, then getting caught mid rounds. Jmm then takes over with thudding bodyshots and power combos. Both have legit welter power now, but I think Jmm has already been there done that where Devon has only got a taste of it. Jmm by tko. Devon depends too much on his athleticism just like Berto to get by. Very low ring IQ and adaptability. They have no plan B. I think actually Berto-Alexander would be more evenly matched and great matchup
