A NONITO DONAIRE JR.-Abner Mares fight is fast shaping up after the Mexican World Boxing Council (WBC) super-bantamweight champion’s camp agreed to work with promoter Bob Arum.
Mares (25-0-1, with 13 knockouts) is handled by Oscar de la Hoya’s Golden Boy Promotions, while Donaire is promoted by Arum’s Top Rank.
Frank Espinoza, Mares’s manager, said he believes de la Hoya also wants both 122-pound division champions to meet inside the ring.

This is great, Rigo is a big question mark, Mares and Donaire have had sensational wins and are solid tested n proven, the cake is baked gentlemen. As for Rigo?? He can wait, has a questionable chin and is little known and sometimes in dull fights, don't get me wrong, he should fight then but the fight that must cine first is Don an Ab.

  6. Mares is far more deserving than Rigondeaux so lets hope it's get made.

Saying Donaire is ducking Rigondeaux is like saying Floyd Maywether is ducking Keith Thurman and Wladimir Klitschko is ducking Dentony Wilder- Rigondeaux hasn't proved **** yet.

Rigo can train on how to handle a jab with out getting rocked while these gents solidify a undisputed status, then Rigo can come in and play.

Rigo is ranked higher than Mares at 122 and has a title. Donaire can't be undisputed w/o beating him

Yeah but what is really the meaning of ranks and belts now days? Like I said, Rigo is def a player but the only thing that can be brought into an argument if they never fought is Rigos talent, his resume is weak. And so is his promotion which is why he doesn't stand add strong as Mares n Don

Mares is a better fighter than Rigo, and should be ranked higher. Mares is a P4P talent whereas Rigo is still unproven.

Riglassdeucks don't wanna agree on date?

Let a real man with iron balls and heart come in and show what facing the best is all about and not just gunning for one guy making his hype all about dethroning him, mares always facing the best top ranked opponents not beasting on buns to look good then calling out one guy.
