Bull****. Bradley did not prove himself as the best at 140. He turned down that opportunity to chase Pac around. And even at 140 he wasn't "trucking" anyone, just winning ugly. Styles make fights. Any of the top guys lurking around 140 right now could have given Bradley fits. Woulda been nice to see. Oh well...
Prior to Bradley-Alexander and Khan-Maidana 1.Bradley 2.Alexander 3.Khan 4.Maidana 5.Ortiz selective memory? this is why they were arguing back then that it was ******ed logic to have #1 and 2 fight, 3 and 4 fight, and the winners fight each other
Bradley's last stoppage win not including a shot, blown-up Joel Casamayor was back in 2007. In other words, almost 6 years ago now. He can't bust a grape on the world level (might have something to do with backpedaling throwing flicker jabs and slap hooks though, if he sat down on his punches, he might hit slightly harder.) Not sure what fight you were watching either. Bradley only clearly got round 10. I gave him 2 and 11 as well, and those were pretty close. It's a reach to give him 1 and 12 also. 3-9, he lost every round decisively. Best I can do for him is 8-4, and it wasn't really that close. I usually score it 9-3.
Having the highest ranking does not equate to clearing out a division. And you had Alexander at no. 2, I did not. But the ranking is obsolete. Each of these guys brought something different to the table that Bradley chose not to nibble on. Guess he wanted that feast with Pac, can't really hate on him for it. But he left a lot of interesting fights back at 140.
I still think, even today, Khan and Bradley have an interesting fight. Ortiz will hurt Bradley should they ever fight. Need some power to discourage Ortiz. Wild Ortiz will hurt Bradley since he can't hurt a fly. My 2 pennies
I don't know man, if Bradley headbutts Ortiz on the jaw, things might get hairy for Victor...that would definitely hurt him :-lol: But yeah, Victor wouldn't have anything to worry about from Bradley's punches. Bradley makes Floyd look like Julian Jackson in terms of punching power.
Not only was it the general consensus that they were #1 and 2, Ring Mag had them there as well. but you joined in Dec 2012 so...
And that's what I'm saying. Styles make fights, and there were some very compelling fights to be made at 140 before Tim got PacVision. Look at the talent pool at 140 right now. Bradley is still not leagues above the elite fighters there. And when he tried to step up beyond this level of opposition, he just did not belong in the ring with Manny Pacquiao.
Don't forget Alexander went on to whoop 3 shades of **** out of Maidana who put Khan on ***** street for 3 straight rounds
Yeah, because posting on a message board proves your knowledge. :deal **** Ring Magazine, it's been like five years since it was still credible (and you just put your own credibility in question by citing it). How did Devon get to number 2, btw? Again, when you have a handful of guys at or near the same level, the rankings are obsolete. Devon may well have been the 4th or 5th best fighter in the division at the time. There was still work left at 140 and Bradley didn't get it done. Post counts be damned.
lmao true. Ortiz's completely okay with trading shots and I'm telling you he would hurt Bradley. I think Ortiz's jaw is "okay" but I truly don't see that being a factor versus Bradley. Bradley would be on the move too much to sit down on his punches and hurt Ortiz, since he sure as **** won't be trading with him. I honestly believe Ortiz is a horrible matchup for Tim
Alexander is about as boring, if not more, than Bradley. He grabs and clinches at the first sign of trouble. There's a reason nobody outside of St.Louis (if anyone there) gives two shits about him. Alexander will get exposed once he steps up competition. Interested in the Brook fight, personally
One fight after losing to Bradley, he arguably lost to Matthyse. But Bradley is clearly better than Matthyse according to the rankings, no need to ever see that fight. atsch
