Give the guy a break, better than him rushing in and getting KTFO which could ruin his career.

Nothing wrong with 5 more fights as long as he fights every 3 months or so.

    What is the rush?

If he'd been active it would be different but all we've heard is the 'i'll be ready in 12 -18 months time' blurb for the last few years, during which time he's racked up not many fights at all leading to Sky eventually running out of patience with him.

He needs to be fighting more regualrly and the reason he isn't is because he doesn't want a Klit. Sky were interested in pushing him along in terms of getting fights under his belt but they knew he was hanging on until the Klits are no longer around - like in about 5 fights time. This is a different promotional environment these days to the old 20 odd fight slow burn lead in. This 5 fight business is all well and good as long as Price doesn't mention a Klitschko again because everyone knows he seriously does not want to reach world level while they are still around.

I saw him say something a while back about preferring to fight Vitali cos he's old and coming to end. It does seem like he's sitting tight and waiting to see them go then try take over.

5 fights is fair enough as long as he's fighting frequently. Ideally 4 fights in a year. Get those 5 learning fights over with quickly.

Thats just the thing - it isn't a rush in this day and age. I personally think he's got all the tools to do the business but whenever we hear him talk all he refers to is this long learning process. Well what exactly did he learn from his last 6 fights where he was in the ring for a total of 11 rounds?! I was pleased with the Thompson fight being announced but this '5 fights' spiel reverts back to the old script Sky got sick of hearing.

The Sun is reporting that Maloney has put up a million quid to fight Fury in June, at Anfield or Wembley. Won't happen on Boxnation for sure.

Nothing wrong with having another 5 fights before going for a belt, provided that each fight will bring him on as a fighter.

Yeah but I just think Price his doing himself a disservice when he keeps going on about not being ready. If an opportunity came up he should take it. Chisora didn't have the same potential as Price. The thing about Price was he always talked about getting ready for a Klit but now seems to be looking to get there after they have gone. But if he could catch one at the right time before they depart it would really make his name.

Before the 2008, I backed David Price to be a World Champion before 31st Dec 2013, not looking good, 5 fights!!??

He'll be ready when the Klitschko's retire and not a moment sooner

Obviously people need to be built up but take a chance at glory and take a payday, he could come again if he got spanked by a Klit.

The way he justifies his lack of balls is horrific. Say what you like about Fury but he is a born FIGHTER and would fight anyone.

No rush - he's what 29? Still Fairly young for a HW, especially one who turned over as a pro at the age he did.
