    Canelo Alvarez Update

    A important source has informed Fightnews.com that Mexican idol Saul Alvarez has not yet signed a contract for the May 4 Golden Boy Promotions events at the MGM Grand Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas, where it is rumored that he could face WBA super welterweight champion Austin Trout. The source indicates that the fight is expected to be finalized in the next few days, but apparently hinges on a possible fight with Floyd Mayweather Jr on September 14. The source further states that if Golden Boy can’t assure the bout against Mayweather then Alvarez may prefer another date in the U.S. or even fight in Mexico. Canelo’s manager Eddy Reynoso is already on the record saying that Alvarez could defend his crown in Mexico with the support of HBO

    Update:

    On the scene. Agreement in place for Trout in May and Floyd in Sept.

    How can Alvarez make demands like this to his promoter, while Pacquiao who is 10x more of a draw never would/could??

    don't believe it. don't think he has any interest in fighting Trout or fighting on Mayweather's undercard. becoming a real boxing business man...

    canelo should no that he cant just have golden boy guarantee him for sure fight with mayweather . nowone knows whats going to happen. floyd might not interested an saul might not be able to do anything about it. because i dont think floyd would ever fight him or anyone at 154 again . he dont wanna fight with those big guys. hes staying at 147 an fighting guys moving up to 147 . no way will canelo be able to make 147 so how they going to fight. i could be wrong tho but i would be shocked if floyd fight another bigger guy like cotto or ortiz . for the rest of his career which could b maybe 3 if were beyond lucky . hes gonna win vs guerrero but it could be his last. an if he does keep fighting it will be 147 guys. i know victor was 147.. and only had the berto fight at 147 which we all know i guess that lands u show down with floyd. but vic is big man. if he would have beat lopez hes was gonna move up to 154 to fight caneo wasnt he? so hes too me considered a big guy in the 147 weight class i do hope im wrong tho cuz floyd is the best he fights in 2 weight classes 147 and 154.. u couldnt get a fight done with the done wit pac when the time was right .. and now i dont think he will fight at 154 again so it aint gunna happen in that weight class either. and i doubt he will ever fight tim bradley sense hes with top rank. who else is there devon alexander thats why this fight might be his last
