So why wasn't he suspended like other fighters or the fight changed to a NC?

because it wasn't serious enough an issue, the stuff was available over the counter, only the IBF ruled it banned.

    It's very simple:

Most Jones/Ward haters are Brits who see them as rivals to Calzaghe.

Most Klitschko haters are Brits who see them as rivals to Lewis.

It must be tiring carrying so much bitterness all the time.

Seriously though, any athlete earning millions are on the juice. If not, we'd have never heard of them.

 dude, i've already busted you for lying on these boards about the pilot program that supposedly busted jones in 2001 even though the fight with hall was in 2000. your posts mean nothing here because you are a liar. please show me the evidence of this being jones' first drug test as a pro. you just make up **** for your cause. pretty sad. so you're calling kieran mulvaney a liar for writing this for espn.com:

    • Roy Jones Jr. and Richard Hall both tested positive for the testosterone precursor androstenedione after Jones defeated Hall to retain his undisputed world light heavyweight championship in Indianapolis in 2000. Jones insisted his test was the result of ingesting the supplement Ripped Fuel.

again, how would he know what hall tested positive for? hall has never said anything except in the original interview that he didn't do drugs. did mulvaney just make this up? how do any writers report what fighters tested positive for?

here's another article by steve farhood:
    http://www.boxing-monthly.co.uk/content/1007/two.htm

In May 2000, Roy Jones tested positive for Androstenedione after his stoppage victory over Richard Hall in Indianapolis. At the time, the supplement was available over-the-counter, but banned by the IBF. (Hall tested positive for the same substance.) Jones was neither suspended nor fined.

here's another part of this article:
Melvina Lathan, Chairwoman of the New York State Athletic Commission: “If someone is caught, who knows if that fighter was previously doing it. And a fighter with unnatural power is capable of doing serious damage. But given the criteria of the Hall of Fame, you have to take each case on an individual basis. Maybe the criteria should be updated. If it isn’t, the decision to vote for or against is individual and very subjective.
“Was Roy Jones’s transgression as egregious as some of the others? No. My reaction to individual fighters depends partly on what was used and whether they were hiding it.
    “It’s a tough question.”

if you think jones cheated his whole career, that's fine but that's called an opinion. when you start making up things to support your opinion, that makes you a liar. i'll be waiting for your name calling response to this post. that's what you're best at on these boards.

It's quite pathetic that you (and other members of The Ripped Fuel Brigade) believes Jones press releases more than official documents from boxing.

That being said, here's the story from the best and most credible writer in boxing Thomas Hauser:

And for your personal information, here's the bit about DLH:

What characterizes members of the Ripped Fuel Brigade is the utter lack of being able to assess facts before making up their opinion. They will just happily swallow the spin from clearly biased sources as long as it fits their agenda.

It is what it is. We've seen it before. I hope those members don't act like that in real life for their own sake.
