whats happening with froch ?

OK, so lets pretend you're Kessler, you don't need Froch.

What are your next moves? Fight some easy fights in Denmark for a handsome pay packet?

Who else is he going to fight that brings the same legacy and £££ to the table as Froch?

 

He doesn't exactly need him, but to get another great scalp against an improved Froch (IMO) will do wonders for his legacy especially if it's in Froch's backyard, and a nice pile of cash.

Kessler is a warrior anyway, I'm sure he doesn't want to spend the rest of his career fighting nobodies.

Ward has repeatedly said he wants it and in a recent interview at the Amir Khan fight, claimed that they dont want none. You know I'm right. Whether you like it or not, what I said is the truth. Matchroom are going to cram in as many fights as possible before they dare throw Frochy in with Ward again.

Its all about damage limitations. If they put Froch in with Ward next, they know the risk. But if they keep feeding Froch IBF challengers for a while, they can make money and get a streak together before any rematch. By that time the result of that fight doesnt matter, because he can bow out regardless.

Thats how boxing works, thats how Matchroom work.

Froch will always lose to Ward and is life and death with Kessler anytime they fight.Without the belt Froch is ****ed and he knows it.He's tough but no world beater and doesn't draw flies in the US,where it really counts($).

 

But your not right though, Ward is injured..why should Froch sit around and wait for 8 months? In the meantime he can fight Kessler, then push for the Ward rematch.

 

If Froch/Kessler aint made by monday he is fighting stevensson.

It just stinks of Eddie "IBF route" Hearn, I'd even go as far to say that Bute would be more understandable fight than that. At the end of the day Matchroom want it all their own way now, with Carl going nowhere to fight, the purse bid b*llocks and all this IBF crap (we're seeing the same with Brook)

Bute was the champ at the time and he came here for that fight, and he is mega popular in Canada, OK he was obliterated, take nothing away from Carl. But Bute's camp leading up to that fight had an injured fighter, and they still proceeded with the fight. Isnt it just right to do that fight in Canada if they cant get Kessler?

IMO they are trying to get Kessler on the cheap, and lets be honest, Kessler is the pull in that fight. OK Carl went over there for the first fight, and Kessler will be willing to come here for the second, but Matchroom are trying to get it on the cheap so that Froch gets a bigger cut. And its no skin of their back if that fight doesnt happen, they will play it down, because they are obviously looking at the "credible" likes of Mack and Stevenson to come all the way over here to fight this "mega champ" Carl Froch.

Matchroom want it all their own way now, its about give and take. They can make the Kessler fight tomorrow if they wanted to, and they could make the Ward fight and Wards next fight back if they wanted to.

But the whole Stevenson "rumor" tells me, they really dont want NONE and zero risk, at least until its right at the end of Froch's career. So by the looks of it they are gonna cram all these fights in between.

Carls had his easy fights now, its time to fight Kessler, maybe rematch Bute, and then fight Andre Ward in one last hurrah.

That Mack fight was dreadful, from the moment it was announced, to the moment it finished. It was just cringe worthy through out, what was more cringe was the fact that the fans were so easily brainwashed for that fight.

They'd have been better of going to the darts, after all, they fit into that demographic.

Yusuf Mack "world class operator because Eddie Hearn told us it was so, and because he was from America" = Justifiable fight for Carl Froch.

Well he has, Mack, Bute all this "IBF route" b*ull****, then the rumored Adonis Stevenson fight before they released this about Kessler today. We know the game. It's a good job this Kessler fight is happening because its a genuine test. Froch was beginning to be over rated, especially after he was destroyed by Andre Ward.

At least its a genuine fight and something for him to try and avenge. If Froch ended up fighting Stevenson after that last Mack fight, it would have become a joke, funny thing is, we would have known who was responsible for this IBF route nonsense. Carl Froch could have finished his career fighting IBF mandatory challengers till the end.

Good to see Hearn wanting to play with the big boys again now. But lets be honest, this is Kessler, not Ward....less risk and more winnable and they KNOW it.

Ward will be the last on the line of people they wanna fight and that wont happen until it is virtually unavoidable and at the end of Froch's career. :hey

1) Bute can call on the rematch anytime, his team clearly don't want the fight.

2) How are they trying to get Kessler on the cheap, he made £2 million for the Calzaghe fight in a 50,000 seater stadium, he'll be getting £2 million in a 20,000 seater against Froch...

3) If Kessler turns down the fight, then Stevenson is there for back up as he is the mandatory challenger, plus there's not much out there at 168 anyway.

Why did I mention that ?
It’s only to make you understand why, in my opinion; I believe Mikkel Kessler’s not thrilled with the idea of fighting Carl Froch for a second time.

■1) They fought already, and Kessler won.
■2) Kessler never did an optional defence of his WBA title; (On the long term, Is a fight against Froch is profitable enough)
■3) Economically, Kessler need to think seriously about the opportunity cost in case his scenario goes wrong.
■4) The fight has to be done in Manchester UK, not in Nottingham.
■5) According the fact that Froch is clearly ducking Stevenson, Kessler know that Froch needs him. Means Kessler can easely request to increase the amount initially proposed of 2 millions to 4 millions with a clear garanty of getting this purse, victory or not…
■6) For Kessler, the IBF title has to be on the table with

Like the WBC situation, if there’s a Kessler-Froch 2 with both WBA & IBF on the line, I believe the winner will be mandated to fight Canada-based Haitian Adonis Stevenson within 90 days.
This condition, could be a policy from the IBF governing body.
So Froch must accept, Kessler must accept & the WBA must accept too.

The unfortunate thing about this, was that Froch or Kessler could end up bypassing Stevenson a second time if a Froch-Kessler 2 happens, because both fighters wants to fight WBA/WBC super middleweight champion Andre Ward.
