Pretty much. It's the same reason that **** Arum will churn out JMM-Pacquiao XXVII as long as it keeps making him money off punters stupid enough to keep reaching into their pockets. The only way the quality of match-ups will improve is if promoters and fighters are given a financial incentive. That incentive can only come from the fans.

I still find the notion that boxing 'fans' think Floyd is ducking Alvarez absolutely ridiculous.

Im sure in an interview not long ago after prison he said his next fight would be at 147 due to weight lost in prison and at that time Canelo was being slated for not fighting true 154lb opponents, not talked of as Floyds next fight.

Its like Floyd wont move in weight=ducking, anyone else 'they want to fight at their best weight so why move up'. its just stupid.

Floyd is ducking Vitali wont move up 100lbs-even though he cant make 154 by his own admission

Some people are seriously ******ed. Canelo isn't saying he won't fight Trout if he doesn't get the Mayweather fight. He is saying that he won't fight Trout on the undercard of Mayweather vs Guerrero, if he isn't guranteed a fight with Floyd. If Floyd decides not to agree to a fight, then Canelo would simply tell them to **** off and fight Trout on another date and venue, March has been mentioned.

Canelo would make Floyd the most money outside of a Pac fight, I don't understand why he would not want to accept the fight.

Canelo is being smart and trying not to get used.

    exactly this

    That's all he said.

Floyd is trying to use him to sell tickets.

Alvarez is right, if floyd wants him to help him sell tickets, he wants a guarantee that he'll get the fight.

The biggest money fight out there is alvarez vs floyd, but floyd is trying to fight an easier opponent, and just stick alvarez on the undercard so he can aim to same amount of money.

And his fans lap it up. Haha. Jokers.

Floyd doesn't need Canelo, they are fighting in different divisions. Floyd can just say **** Canelo I'm staying in the WW division.

To be fair it is not clear either way what he is trying to say:

I.e he would not be willing to face Trout if he is not guaranteed the Mayweather fight in September
    or
He would be willing to face Trout just not on the Mayweather undercard.

If his position is the second I have no problem with it, however if it is the first ( and lets be honest here Canelo doesn't exactly have a good record of fighting credible opponents at 154lbs) then I would have a problem with it.

I think Floyd would take the fight with Canelo but would like him to be a little more credible because when he beats him the likelihood is everyone will say he was just a hype job!

If he gets past Trout ( I don't think he does ) that makes him very credible and the fight more appealing.

I guarantee that Canelo would be called to green or overrated if Mayweather fights and beats him. Guarantee it.

Yep. Also note how Floyd has said he wont fight over 147 since his prison stint (at least not in his first fight back) yet people want him to move up and if he doesnt he is ducking Canelo-why doesnt Canelo come to 147 then

Whether it is on Floyd's undercard or not, Canelo's next fight, w/o question, should be vs Trout, imo. Floyd will lose potential revenue not having Canelo on the undercard, but, probably will still net upwards of 20-30 million. Good business move by Canelo to try to corner Floyd into a fight that will net Canelo his highest payday, give him his greatest exposure, and a chance to take the torch. But, Floyd does not need him. Although, it's a matchup I wouldn't mind paying for, more fulfilling to me right now, is to see Canelo fight the best 154 lber's who've been calling him out.
