Chisora was a big figure in the public eye after battering Hilenius and getting robbed to giving Vitali his toughest fight since Lewis.
Haye made a statment by knocking him out and proving himself as the best challenger out there for Vitali. Its the best fight out there for him and if he fights somebody else its for fear of losing.

Haye should have fought Vitali in 2009 when he had an offer. Instead he took an easier fight with Valuev in front of 9,000 fans and stunk the joint out.

Haye had multiple chances to fight Vitali and didn't. Nobody to blame but himself. Vitali is WBC champion he calls the shots. Haye brings nothing to the table. Vitali doesn't have to fight Haye or retire he can fight ANYONE he wants.

Fighting Haye at this point is not a career defining fight. Looks like Vitali might be taking on Fury and after he shatters Fury's Glass Jaw he can retire if he wants.

Chisora won 2 rounds. If that is a "tough fight" then Vitali has to be one of the greatest ever right?

Haye has ducked Vitali when Vitali was much closer to prime.

So he doesn't 'deserve' the shot.

He's done **** all at HW to merit this fight.

So he doesn't 'deserve' the shot.

He talked big before Wlad but failed to back it up, running and dropping to the canvass, going down more often than the average crack-***** in 36 minutes.

So he doesn't 'deserve' the shot.

He refuses to make fights with other leading HWs because a loss would ruin the possibility of a big Vitali payday.

So he doesn't 'deserve' the shot.

And yet, this is a fight that should be made.

As Will Munney told little Bill in UNFORGIVEN (just before he blew his head off):

"Deserve's got nothing to do with it."

Valuev's team offered Haye £1m more than Vitali with better terms & fewer options.

Why would he not take an easier fight for more money & under better conditions?

Is it Haye's fault that K2 are notoriously tight with money & have contract clauses that go far beyond anyone else's?

When you say 'duck' do you mean went away, fought a belt holder who neither of the Klits would fight, for more money and better contractual terms, came back and set up and unification fight with the younger, healthier and more dominant HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPION for 10x the money, hype and no contractual options? Sounds like the move of a smart businessman who wants to fight the best. Perhaps you just have a different definition of duck where you live.

By my logic you can't say 'this fighter doesn't merit a fight because he hasn't done anything or beat anyone' when the exact same can be said of the majority of his recent opponents.

What did shot to **** Shannon Briggs do to 'merit' a shot against Vitali? Lose the WBO title in his first defence to Ibragimov? Between losing his title and fighting Vitali, Briggs fought 4 no name opponents with 40+ loses between them. One of these was even declared an NC because Shannon failed a drugs test. Let me guess, if Haye had spent the last year fighting against bums with 15+ losses he'd qualify for the fight?

Who did Manuel Charrrrr beat to earn a 'merit' at the 'title'? What had he achieved? Obviously, I mean apart from being a fat man with little skill who was willing to fight for a pittance. Perhaps Haye should gain some flab, gel his hair and fight Vitali for £100k?

What did Chisora achieve in his 15 previous fights to merit a shot at the title? Who did he beat? Sam Sexton? Losing to Tyson Fury? Losing to one handed Helenius? Perhaps Haye needs to lose to a domestic level fighter to get his chance?

What did Sosnowski do that was so special that made him 'merit' a shot at Vitali that Haye hasn't surpassed?

What did Adamek do that's any different to Haye? Former CW champ, nothing special on the HW resume, except he didn't hold a title at HW.

Seems to me that Vitali's previous opponents haven't done all that much to 'merit' shot at his paper title, but you suddenly want to make out that Haye doesn't meet some high qualification criteria that clearly doesn't exist. Why not just say 'I don't want to see this fight because I don't like David Haye' instead of trying to make out it's something to do with not deserving the shot. Unless of course you can explain what these other fighters did to merit their shot?

Oh I see, so is there a rule in boxing that says if you talk trash to the champion and then lose you can't fight the number two guy in the division? If so, please point out where this has ever been applied at any point in the entire history of boxing, because to my eyes it just seems as though you're talking complete shite because you dislike a guy because he said some nasty things about your hero. Pretty sad.

    Ok, ok. I get it.

    Wait . . . . what? :huh

    :lol::rofl

Haye had to give a 3 fight option to Sauerland. It was Haye simply once again taking the easy way out. That excuse doesn't fly. Sorry.

    :patsch:patsch:patsch

The easy way out by winning a title and setting up a unification fight with the better brother, who was also the HW Champ, in a 50:50 split with no options.

    Yeah . . . . some duck that was.

Well, of course! You think it would have sold the amount it did with Wladimir selling the fight? Unlikely, even impossible! Haye knows how to sell a fight, that's why his last 3 outings have been big selling PPV fights. No one would have taken notice if Haye would have taken to that escalator and said to Wlad in a calm, monotonous voice "I want to fight you", but instead he insulted Wlad and made the boxing world stand up and want to see the fight.

The same as many people want to see Mayweather beaten, they also want to see Haye knocked out! At least Haye made the build up to the fight exciting. But like I said, no matter what anyone says about Haye, he is the main attraction in the division. He may be retired, but people are still talking about him. This thread (and many others) is evidence that people can't stop talking about him, whether it's good or bad.

I doubt it will happen, but I hope that if Haye and Vitali get it on, that Vitali will come out and try to K.O Haye. That is the kind of fight when you see Haye at his very best. Case in point, Chisora was pressing David and trying to get the knockout, but Haye was able to box Chisora well and get the knockout over him instead. Haye will never be able to outbox a guy like Wladimir, because someone like Wladimir is too overly cautious in the ring.

I would guess, lets Haye wait till the summer and then decide to finally
fight up his way to the champion by beating at least one top 10 contender.

Vitali had a title. Haye took the easy way out. He had to give Sauerland options. If Haye would have fought Vitali first there would have been no Wlad fight. You know it. I know it. Everybody knows it. Well, except the Brits on here. They think Haye would have won by KO1.
